Liked: The staff was fantastic, location of the place great. The people are quite hippy-ish, so the atmosphere was chill. Free tea and coffee all the time was a big plus :)

Liked: Very quirky little place centrally located so easy to find your way round. Friendly staff who helped us from the minute we checked in till after we had checked out. They made our stay in edinburgh amazing.

Liked: i wanted to watch CHOPPER, friday night wanted to watch chopper while having a few pre drinks, was told by reception no movies to nights its friday. ok algood but went back down stairs one of the staff not working said im putting on a dvd CHRIST IT WAS LORD OF THE RINGS. so being a paying customer mean nothing to this hostel. your just another number. congrdulations high hostel never wanted to hack my eyes out with a spoon before i do now. you made the happiest man in the world sad, shame on you. but other wise stay here its algood

Liked: The best thing about the High Street Hostel, I think, is the location. It's conveniently located on the Royal Mile, an easy walk away from all the sights. There's a kitchen in the basement which is convenient, but gets noisy at night. Hot showers were good and the place was very clean. Great value for money! :)

Liked: Location was great! Staff was friendly and the rooms were really clean. The only problem was hot water. It was really weak and the bathroom was cold.

Liked: Great location, staff couldn't have been more helpfull. My only complaint was bad odour in some rooms.I would highly recomend it.

Liked: The location is perfect because it's just off the high street. However, you should know that this means that at night (particularly over the weekend) there is a lot of noise from the street.

Liked: Second stay dined out to avoid kitchen renovation, very good selection for breakfast (pay for what you eat) was able to leave rucksack until time for train home free wireless internet connection if you have laptop or 80p for 30 min

Liked: Good central location not to far from Station and Airport bus. Rooms clean, kitchen undergoing renovations at present but that should not take long to complete and then it will be great

Liked: The staff were very friendly, but seemed to do nothing about people shouting, laughing and generally making a lot of noise between 4am and 6am when most people are trying to sleep.The hostel itself was very nice, good layout and facilities. Nice hot showers, great eating/socialising area.
