Great hostel, friendly staff, clean bathrooms and dorms, really great atmosphere and the pub crawl was excellent! Would highly recommend this hostel - such a great location right next to the castle and so close to the Royal Mile.

Very friendly and helpfull staff, you can come in at anytime, nice lounge which has good atmosphere. You do sometimes have a hard time looking for a clean cup or a clean tea-towel to dry your dishes. But for the rest, the kitchen has anything you need.

Everything was fantastic! esspeshally loved the free internet! Very clean! Friendly people! Top place! Only Complaint is that I was not warned I would need a passport or drivers liecence to stay there!

The hostel is great, the staff is really friendly; rooms are clean and the kitchen too...
You can find there so many activities to do, like tours and parties in Ediburgh!
Was a good experience to be in this Hostel, so i really recommend this place!

I've stayed in over 150 hostelsm, Castle Rock has to be in the top 5. Some of it's many qualities were the atmosphere, the friendliness of staff, free tea and coffee, free pool, free linen, centrally located and cheap.
