Liked: Excellent location, not far from the trainstation, and right in the centre of the city, if you get lost, just head for the castle, its great.very chilled out staff, all very friendly, hot showers (that work) clean, large dorms so, personal safe and locker, its great, i'd really recommend this place, theres always something going on if the weather is too bad to go out or something, it's very cool.

Disliked: have to pay to use internet if you don't have Wi-Fi

Liked: The athmosphere and the staff were very good. The rooms were clean and the I felt very safe staying there. The lounge areas were great !

Disliked: No power outlets in the rooms.

Liked: The staff is really cool and nice; all the people I met while staying here are really awesome too. Great atmosphere for hanging out, meeting people, etc. The dorms are nice and big, very spacious. I love that the lockers are provided free and you don't have to have your own lock, as a key is provided to you. It's very secure as you have to show your orange card and be buzzed in every time you enter.

Disliked: the lack of plugs in the rooms is kinda crappy, but they are happy to charge things for free behind the front desk. I think the breakfast should be free because it's not that great. The beds aren't the best, as the mattresses are kind of thin on top of this hard wood base. It's not bad if you sleep on your back or stomach, but if you like to sleep on your side it's uncomfortable.

Liked: Good location; right by the castle!! Super helpful staff! Great services such as free wifi and free luggage store for the day you check out (really helpful)!

Disliked: I wish the beds had book lights but it wasn't a big deal. The mattresses are a bit on the thin side but not that uncomfortable for a few nights stay.

Liked: Everything! This was, overall, the best place I stayed during my travels. The atmosphere is awesome--lots of artwork, great personality, and very fun. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the facilities were the best of anywhere I'd stayed. The location is fantastic, as well--very close to the most interesting places in Edinburgh.

Disliked: I loved everything about this property--I wish I could have stayed longer :)

Liked: The location is strategic. The hostel has it's own blend of unique characteristics. The staffs are friendly and helpful.

Disliked: It is inconvenient to charge our phones as there are no available electric sockets in the hostel room.

Liked: it is cool!!! staffs are friendly, the place is clean, the room is awesome, there is locker and self catering facilities provided and i felt safe!! the location is just perfect, i can see the sunset view of castle from my room <3 <3

Liked: + amazing location right next to the castle+ incredible lounge (fireplace, grand piano, majestic decoration)+ nice staff, clean rooms, good breakfast=> The castle rock hostel is more a castle, less a hostel

Disliked: - The bathroom was the only suboptimal thing in this hostel. The toilets often were blocked and the showers were really musty... yiech!

Liked: The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. the hostel offers very reasonable long term storage of luggage. it is fantastic if you'd like to travel around and then come back to edinburgh. the hostel has a lot of facilities and is just a wonderful places to stay. the room was comfortable and they also offer lockers beside the bed.
