Liked: staff were very helpful & friendly, breakfast included, free internet, big communal area for meeting people

Disliked: no individual lights in the room i was in, so when people came in late at night, they turned on the main light which kept waking people up (could be not a big deal if people were more considerate)

Liked: Everything! Best common room i've ever been in. Awesome and helpful staff...when i extended my stay, one staff member spent ages fixing it so i could remain in the same room.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: The atmosphere and character of this place is great! It definitely feels like a backpackers hostel. The walls and doors are painted (like pictures and whatnot) throughout the place, which really do complete it. It is very close to the city centre - you literally step out onto the street and you're able to see Edinburgh Castle. It was quite difficult to find with driving there though. There is free breakfast, free wifi, a kitchen, good hang out spots - the facilities there are good.

Disliked: Just the fact that there were no lifts so, you have to carry your luggage to your room. However, it is fortunate enough that if you ask the staff (nicely), they will do that for you!

Liked: This place has everything you'd ever need at a hostel... Affordable prices, free wifi, free breakfast until noon, great atmosphere, and awesome staff. This was my husband's first time staying in a hostel, and he's now ready to stay in more because we had such a great experience. The location is great, but if you feel like staying in for the night, their 'beanbag cinema' has a ton of movies to choose from.

Disliked: Definitely wear earplugs at night! There is a club across the street that plays music until 3am or so, and you can hear every beat. And there's been construction on the street, so you may wake up to a jackhammer! But with earplugs it's completely fine.

Liked: This was an exceptionally nice place to stay right in the city centre. The building and facilities were great and well looked after, all of the staff were super nice and seemed to enjoy their jobs! There was lots of space in the dorms, a nice bar with pool tables and games and a lounge area to relax or surf the web, a huge kitchen, a cinema with tons of films to choose from, a number of computers and even iPhones for public use. Breakfast included was also awesome (great coffee). The place was very modern and provided everything a backpacker could want!

Disliked: Nada.

Liked: I can't really give a proper review as I literally Checked in, went out on the town, slept the night then left. But the free internet usage and the breakfast were alright.

Disliked: Took me a bit to find were the shower was. I was pretty hungover though.

Liked: Staff are friendly. Nice bar and cafe area. Lockers in room feel properly safe and solid. Free wifi in the room is a plus. Beds were pretty good.

Disliked: The wife sometimes dropped down to about 1mb/s, which wasn't enough to even open my emails, but it eventually gained speed again. The showers in the bathroom next to our room had glass/clear doors and no cubicles or anything. So if you decide to use them, you are on show to everyone. There was other showers that were more private downstairs though. Kinda annoying having to buzz in at the door every time you go into the hostel, and having to show your hostel card, but that's just a minor annoyance.

Liked: Nice big kitchen,clean showers, beds, and free wifi and bfast! He location is great too. They have excellent security!

Disliked: The stairs... Climbing up and down for minor reasons were not troublesome.

Liked: Very secure building. Internet access. Staff were very friendly and approachable and breakfast wasn't half bad

Liked: Friendly staff, friendly guests (other backpackers), cozy bar/pub & free breakfast, comfortable beds and warm heating, nice showers/bathrooms, 24h reception AND willing to keep your bags for longer after check-out time (up until midnight of that night) if you have a late night flight.

Disliked: No complaints

Liked: This is a quite big but very cosy and welcoming hostel. The rooms (at least the bigger dorms) are basic, but there is a wonderful bar, a huge kitchen to cook and keep food in, a quiet room with cushions to lie down with a book. Bathrooms are many and clean, although not sparkling. It is very close to the city centre and just a few metres away from a bus stop of the airport bus. You can leave your bags after you've checked out for free. The staff were quite friendly, although I wouldn't think that the information one of them gave us about Stirling Castle was accurate (it was quite a disappointment for its 13 pounds). Back to the hostel - it is a cosy place with character, highly recommended.

Disliked: The bathroom cubicles are a bit small and the water not always hot enough - maybe a good way to reduce the length of time people stay in them though. If you want a padlock for your locker, you need to buy one. The windows in our dorm were quite difficult to open and impossible to keep open unless you prop them ( not ideal for the books you are using ...).

Liked: Probably my favourite hostel I've ever stayed in! Fantastic location, very friendly staff, large rooms with very clean bathrooms and a generally exciting atmosphere. All the facilities were great and the internet very fast, even in the rooms which is a bonus.

Disliked: Nothing!
