Liked: Really close to all the main sites and main shopping areas. 15 min walk to train and bus station, 5 minute walk to Edinburgh castle and the royal mile. Lockers in rooms, beds comfortable, great communal areas and big kitchen. Free breakfast pretty good, goes til 12. Also check in and out t at 12 which is great!!

Disliked: alot of extended stay residence, so the kitchen was jam packed come tea time, also meant that there were some wierdos hanging around. The bath rooms a tad small, only 3 showers and 2 toilets for the girls on one large floor, but never had to wait. Showers don't have much ro to hang clothes. The positives howeve weigh out these negatives I feel.

Liked: Great atmosphere! Close to the city centre. Lots of stuff to do when you don't feel like leaving the building.

Disliked: Going back home.

Liked: Although it was quite a big hostel with lots of people, it had a nice, small hostel feel to it. The staff were really friendly and helpful despite the reception seeming to be constantly busy. The free breakfast was really good (and went to midday) and it was definitely nice to have free wifi throughout the building (with desktops and laptops available to use free as well!)

Disliked: They had the lockers which only work with a chunky padlock which I lacked and didn't want to pay for, but I didn't feel as if my stuff was in danger of getting nicked anyway. An extra front desk person during the morning to deal with checkouts might help alleviate the rush, but I guess the problem with having a fantastic hostel is that everyone wants to stay there.

Liked: The staffs are really friendly and the facilities are good, apart from the shower as mentioned in other comments, definitely worthwhile to stay with them

Liked: Its a great place to stay.

Disliked: Staff are not the best i have known, don't get me wrong not everyone are bad. Only thing i would suggest is, make sure you carry government issued ID, because they don't consider your UK student ID(valid until 2013,with you photo) or UK bank card(cards) or Youth hostel membership card(issued in Scotland) or even any bill with your billing address as a valid form of ID. I live in UK, I extensively traveled across UK and Ireland but never had this problem.

Liked: Great place, good people, best hostel atmosphere, big lockers, good check-in system, breakfast from 6-12am, warm showers, everything was clean, the staff was really helpful, wifi everyhwhere

Disliked: There is none, it is probably the best hostel I've ever visited :)

Liked: Absolutly everything! Everyone was super friendly and the rooms were safe and clean and we had no concerns leaving our belongings in the room while we were out exploring!

Disliked: Not a thing!

Liked: - definitely the fastest wifi ever! and available in the room - the cucumber room (chillout area)

Disliked: - no privacy in the shower - lower bunkbead... not enough room to get out without hitting the head

Liked: This is one of the best hostels I have stayed in--it's very large, very well equipped, organized, and supplied. Overall, I am very satisfied and highly recommend it.

Disliked: The mattress in the dorm room is starting to get a little worn out--but for me this was a very minor point compared to all the incredible positive points about the hostel.

Liked: It must be the safest hostel I've ever stayed in. There was one shower room for the whole floor, but people left their toiletries there and you could feel safe, no one would take your stuff. The atmosphere was awesome, I only stayed for 2 nights but I talked to loads of different people from around the world. And last but not least: the staff. They all speak more than one language, so they're very capable of helping anyone. They also con do you favours: one of the girls at the reception helped me fixing a new dress I had bought. In conclusion: I would definitely recommend it, and I would definitely go back!

Disliked: It wasn't as near from the centre as it said on the description. It was easy for me to find it because I'd already been to Edinburgh, but if it's your first time there, you should know it's a bit of a walk. Not much, about 10 or 15 minutes, but it can be annoying if you find heavy reain when you arrive!

Liked: Lots of free added facilities - including internet, breakfast and a cinema room. The staff where very friendly and went to all lengths to be helpful.

Liked: It was funky and RIGHT in the middle of the city, easy to find, safe, free WIFI is awesome too.

Disliked: The showers... it is hard to shower as there is nowhere to put your things, makes for an interesting time. The shower cubicle is just that, a shower cubicle. No hooks or space inside for your towel/clothes.

Liked: The hostel had a fresh atmosphere, very exciting! The wireless worked in the rooms which was great! It is so colorful and artistic. A good place to stay.

Disliked: the breakfast area is small for how many people stayed there. The bathrooms were really small. I wish that the beds each had their own outlets and lights. But overall it was good.
