Liked: Brilliant location and very easy to get too. Atmosphere in hostel was great, all staff were friendly and willing to help with anything. Room was well laid out, beds weren't all shoved together (30 bed dorm!) Plug sockets seemed to be everywhere! Bar and chill out room were good. Hostel seemed to have everything you could need.

Disliked: Only thing would be room was cold at night and could be more toilets.

Disliked: I didn't like that the check in was at 1 PM, but other than that, it was a great hostel.

Liked: It was one of the cleanest I have stayed in, which I was very pleased with.

Disliked: I did not like that the 'chill out room' was so filled with noise and music from the common room downstairs that you couldn't really chill out, or hear the TV. I also did not like that the website was not very clear about the dorm rooms being coed. It was not a huge deal, I would just like to have know that going in, rather than being surprised walking into a room full of men.

Liked: i really enjoyed the buzz at the 24h hour budget backpackers hostel, staff were great, respectful, very fair, with a spirit of fun and most importantly for me they were natural, fellow guests were friendly, the dorm' was cleaned daily and showers/bathrooms every few hours, the feng shui/atmospehere is very good and the food tasty. There is a dining room for those who wish to cook for themselves, good computer facilities and areas to relax or study, also after you check out you can hire a locker to store your luggage for a mere £1, i felt i could be myself at this hostel it has a magic for those young and/or young at heart with a spirit of adventure, you will feel at home, it has an Australian feel to the place, i hope to visit again, lovely people all round.

Disliked: only a few minor niggles, i wish some one had explained that you must squeeze the paddlelock for your personal room locker to lock it as i never had a clue about that, the dorm' windows aren't double-glazed possibly down to strict planning rules and if you're at the front there is a road which can be busy at rush hour so take along ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, weekend tariffs were too high for me so i had to move out when i didn't wish to and the next hostel i went to wasn't as special.

Liked: The hostel was very clean and all fascilities were exactly as described and in great working order. Staff were helpful. Great value for money.

Disliked: Location is ok, if one travels light. Quite a walk from the train station as Edinburgh is hilly. Be prepared to hike with big luggage.

Liked: A big hostel aimed for those who want to party. Their cafe serves surprisingly good and cheap food (most mains less then £5).

Disliked: Their WiFi was struggling at times due to the many users.

Liked: Its just brilliant. Its so lively, always something happening that you can get involved with. Pub Crawls and Walking tours were brilliant and you have a keycard and security pass so it's really safe. Its a great location, the staff are the best I've encountered and Edinburgh itself is amazing. It's my best hosteling experience in 11 months in Europe :)

Liked: Liked the location, lots of shops and pubs around and the 24hr reception was helpful too. I stayed during a very quiet time for the hostel (post new years) so I although I was in a 10 bed room I never shared with more than 3 other people.

Disliked: The staff were a bit of a mixed bag; some were really helpful and nice and some were clearly not interested. I didn't get told about any of the facilities when I checked in; I had to go looking around for the kitchen and dining rooms.

Liked: good atmosphere, nice food also with good prices.

Disliked: I lost my wallet at Edinburgh I told them and did not help as much as they could, actually I felt unsupported, they did not know what to do, neither recommed me anything. I asked for the nearest police station and the did not know where was it.

Liked: The Atmosphere was fantastic and you were made to feel welcome and at easy the location was fantastic with pubs and clubs just a few minutes walk very clean and the food prices there are excellent with most meals being a £5 or less it was really easy to make friends as everyone was up for having a good time and there was no trouble at all when i was there staying i would deffo reccomend this hostel to my friends in the future will deffo be my first port of call to bring in the new year next year if im in the capital

Disliked: the only thing i disliked about the hostel was the showers can to run to cold to quickly so its a very speedy shower indeed

Liked: Very nice hostel - cheap, well located and clean. The bar is also relatively cheap and you can get some good beer there. It is also safe and they have lots of showers spread throughout the building.

Disliked: The water of the showers was never really hot, just warm. It was ok, but maybe if it were colder could be a problem.

Liked: Amazing atmosphere. Love how it's decorated and the music they play is good at all times. It's very easy to meet people there, and the pub crawl was one of the best I've done! I doubt any hostel can beat that one in Edinburgh. I've been to many hostels and this is in my all-time top 3, if not top 1.

Disliked: Check-out time is way too early (10am). Other than that, nothing to complain about!

Liked: Free tours like pub crawl, nice showers and taps which are not separated (hot and cold)....

Disliked: extremly expensive internet. They wanted to have full credit card details to confirm the booking, even though I made a booking and deposit on Hostelbookers.

Disliked: Only downside is terrible wireless internet and no computer for customers to use.
