Liked: Everything was great- clean, comfy, bright and colourful.

Disliked: Could have done with more female showers, common room was not heated as much as the room and a lift would have been good

Liked: It was clean, there was internet available and lots of bathroom facilities. The place was all very secure and had free lockers to keep your stuff safe.

Liked: They offered a free guided tour and free pub crawl with a really funny tour guide. Would really reccommend if wanting a nice stay in EdinburghKitchen facilites was great!

Disliked: Wish they offered free internet.

Liked: I enjoyed my stay here...be prepared for mixed dorms though...I got a shock when I opened the door to be in with 3 boys! The showers were clean and the lamps on each bed are great. Nice breakfast the next morning for £2.

Disliked: Also be prepared for a climb up the hill with luggage

Disliked: the smell of cleaning detergent in the hallways was always strong.. but not a huge issue.. other than that nothing.

Liked: Excellent location just off Grassmarket (and close to my favourite Edinburgh pub The White Hart Inn). Cheap and cheerful.

Disliked: The heating in our room wasn't working, and had bene replaced with a tiny electric heater which did absolutely nothing to warm the room at all. The weather had just started getting cold (dropping to freezing at night), which made the room extremely uncomfortable to sleep in and made us both feel ill by the last day. The hostel is also pretty noisy - one of the rules is 'no noise after 11pm', but the hostel runs its own pub crawls from 9pm, which results in people coming in really drunk and really loud (running around and shouting in the corridors) at 4am. Not a place to stay without ear plugs.

Liked: Great hostel, fairly cheap and good location right off the Grassmarket. I love the chillout room, really nice place to just read, watch tv, or do whatever you like.

Liked: It feels sort of like a real hotel -- everything is fairly clean, new, unbroken, etc. There is a lot of space, and more kitchens than you can really imagine anyone needing. We never had to wait to shower or use the bathroom, which is nice in such a large hostel. The staff was helpful.

Disliked: It was very impersonal -- the hang out rooms were so big that people just stayed in groups with the persons they came with. There was also not much to do in the hostel (a few books). There is a game room but all it holds is one, for-pay, pool table. A nice place to sleep and shower, but not much more.

Liked: We stayed there for 3 nights and it was great value for money. 24 hour reception with friendly and helpful staff. Safety was good! Dorm rooms with lockers to fit whole backpack in. Clean and nice. Would recommend it.
