Disliked: If you are not looking to party, there are quieter hostels around

Liked: The atmosphere and the design is amazing throughout the hostel. The stuff is very friendly,helpful and always smiling :) The bar is lively at night, you can play games or meat people and there is also a chill out room with large beans where you can watch a film!The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms always smelled fresh and clean as well! There is free wifi and a great living room..what more can you ask?

Liked: Great Location, beds were clean and roomy, there were lockers in each room and plenty of showers and bathrooms, great bar downstairs with food and drinks, did get busy but worth the money if not more!

Disliked: The Bar got loud on weekends but it is to be expected.

Liked: Really good kitchen and bar, clean, great staff, pub crawls, two fun lounges, just an all around cool place.

Disliked: 30 bed dorm is insane. someone is either always sleeping or always drunk, but that's not the hostel's fault at all

Liked: Free wifi, bar, staff were friendly, plugs and light on each bed.

Disliked: i was in the '30' bed room, it was on split levels. the people on my level were good and quite but the level above had no consideration that it was a split level room.

Liked: i liked the hospitality of the staff and the cleanliness of the hostel.

Disliked: it should seriously include a free breakfast like other hostels. i disliked this as there was no free breakfast.

Liked: I loved the laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was of good quality and value. The location is perfect for all the pubs, clubs and attractions. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Disliked: My only dislike was the window was jammed when we first arrived so was a bit chilly in the room but it was fixed soon after.

Liked: Large number of toilets/showers. Cleanliness. Good beds. Staff.

Disliked: I missed free tea/coffee in the dining room. These are on offer in other hostels usualy.

Liked: Well located, great atmosphere (lounge with good music and young people), cheap meals and drinks, friendly staff!!

Disliked: It's a really good hostel, but a downside would be the weak light of the bedroom and when you are having a shower the light sensor doesn't reach the shower box, so the light turns off after a while

Liked: There was plenty to do at the hostel. They have a tv room, board games, trivia nights, a bar, internet, pool table... I wasn't ever bored! Every bed had a private reading light and a locker, which is great. There were shared bathrooms as well as single-sex bathrooms available on every floor. They even had a restaurant AND kitchen! The restaurant was amazing- usually when a hostel has a kitchen I take advantage of it to save some money. In this instance, the restaurant was such a good value I didn't have to! They had a great selection for breakfast... a bowl of cereal was about 1 pound and a bowl of yogurt about 1 pound 30.

Disliked: No key-card entry to get into the building, anyone could just walk in.

Liked: Everything! From the entrance you feel the warm welcome from the people at the reception. They know everything about Edinburgh and they are funny & friendly. The hostel is really large and they offer chill rooms, kitchens, hangouts and a restaurant. Why go to a hotel if you can go here?

Disliked: After some thinking.... nothing, really nothing.

Liked: The location is very good esp if your intending on doing a Haggis tour like I did. For a price I paid it was a bargain, great facilities on offer - movie room, social area with pool tables & a bar with food as well as a good kitchen for wipping up something yourself. Staff were very friendly too.

Disliked: I stayed in the 30 room dorm & if you do, don't expect to get a good night sleep! There are two levels & so if the people on the top level are making a noise there's no waty to hint at them ha ha.

Liked: The staff we some of the nicest hostel staff I have ever come across. Super Amazing.

Disliked: need more showers, 2 showers per floor is really not enough.

Liked: Its in a great location, fantatic group of staff- very friendly, social and helpful. cheap food at the cafe, easy enough to meet people, fun pub crawl.

Disliked: no computers and your not allowed your own alcohol in the common room... and possibly your room also, but the bar does sell reasonably priced drinks

Liked: It is a lovely building and location, with very helpful staff!

Disliked: The doors slam (and they're heavy and it's hard to stop them from slamming), so it was a bit hard to stay asleep. The lockers are very nice to have, but they should be bolted to the wall - mine started tipping outwards while I tried to get my bag out.

Liked: Edinburgh is pretty low on clean hostels which make a travel feel secure and confident. This is pretty darn close, especially for those on a budget. The large dorm is actually split into 3 spaces, which makes it feel very comfortable. Super large lockers. Showers, at least early in the morning, had great pressure and were hot — thumbs up.

Disliked: We checked in a bit on the late side, and our beds were closest to the door. Not really an issue, but it was unfortunate. The noise from roommates coming and going was understandable, but the extremely bright and giant EXIT sign over the door wasn't. A privacy curtain on beds closest to the door would solve it. WIFI is available at the hostel, but the reception is crappy. We only had two bars, and the WIFI works only in the hostel's bar/restaurant.

Liked: It was in the PERFECT location, the staff was very friendly & knowledgeable, the rooms had huge lockers big enough to fit backpacks, and it was a great place to meet people.

Disliked: The only thing I didn't like was having to put on and take off my bedding rather than have it ready when I arrived.
