Liked: Free tea, coffee and milk. Perfect location(once you have found it). Bedside plug sockets ideal for phone, camera charging. Dimmer switch for light(not just on/off.) Posters and leaflets in reception/lounge informative - saw a tour I now want to book. Chatty, approachable staff - although an i.d badge would be good as they look just like guests. No curfew.

Disliked: My bed was double booked, but this was sorted. There is a room of long-stayers(staff?) which is full of their property - not my room but I should mention it. People(long-stayers/staff?) smoking in the wash room at night. Because I was there they went to the kitchen instead and smoked out of a window. Showers are tricky to mix hot/cold.

Liked: extremely helpful staff, always willing available,approachable great atmosphere throughout central location

Disliked: nothing much, the room could have been a little cleaner but it was not too bad

Liked: you'll need a green card to enter, so that makes it feel safe. its in the middle of high street. in other words, really really near the city center, so everything is quite handy. milk, hot chocolate, and tea are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. hahahas! and i consider it quite cheap having the location and facilities. overall, really not bad! :):)

Disliked: didnt quite like the bed sheets, look like they didnt change it :(

Liked: Good location and close to railway. There is a relaxed atmosphere with helpful staff and nice rooms.

Disliked: Because of the traffic and public on the Royal Mile, the rooms on the street site were very noisy at night.

Liked: I liked common rooms, that every room and bed has its own funny name...

Disliked: just that wifi wasn't working very good, it was good just in one corner of room.

Liked: Nice atmosphere, good location, well reserved facilities, coziness.

Disliked: Breakfast was a bit more disorganized than I expected, they didn't provide many choices for it, only some bread and cereal and simple beverages. Spreads on bread were also not that tempting...(only a peanut butter I could find) I hope they would pay more attention to the breakfast.

Liked: good location, big rooms

Disliked: most of the people staying here work here or stay long term, so it meant that they all knew eachother very well, and it made it awkward for short term travellers to meet or get to know new people

Liked: location is desirable

Disliked: staff were very rowdy and not very helpful. the reception was just beside the lounge which was very noisy with loud music and drunk people it was difficult to hear the reception staff properly. my friend and i stayed in the room next to their staff rest room. they were having party with loud music and people keep walking in and out of their room, slamming the door behind them. we were unable to rest well until their party ended at 4am in the morning. it was the most miserable night i have ever spent in any hostel so far.

Liked: Right in the Centre of he Royal mile with lots of great places to eat near buy and near lots of bars.Staff friendly and helpful.

Disliked: It was snowing and cold during my stay and the heat in the bedroom was just a tiny electric heater which didnt give off much warmth.

Liked: Even though there was a mixup when we arrived and our group of 4 was split in two different buildings, the staff was very apologetic and made it up to us with free breakfast. This hostel has lots of character and is in an amazing location. Beds are also super comfortable, with real sheets - possibly the best hostel I've stayed at so far.

Disliked: Amanda left no negative feedback.
