Liked: AWESOME! We spent 5 weekws travelling 6 countries and this was the best property of all. The character of the place is immense. It';s a real Scottish castle! STAY HERE!!!!The rooms are quite sparse, nothing to them, but you'll spend your time wandering the castle so don't worry abotu that. So much to take in, so little time.

Disliked: Nothing really to dislike. We'd read some poor reviews but those people are clearly high maintenance. It's a hostle. It's also a castle. Don't expect the Ritz, expect an ADVENTURE. Loved it! Oh - one thing - there are no facilities near the castle, so stock up before you arrive. Ps,. we stayed in October, the heating was tuirned up full. Ignore the reviews saying it was cold, it so wasn't.

Liked: It's a real castle! Well worth a couple nights stay to explore the area.

Disliked: Nearest supermarket is 5miles away - come prepared if using public transport!

Liked: Your driving down the road to the hostel and you see this beautiful castle sitting on the edge of the hill over looking the loch and although you know you are staying in a castle that night it can't possibly be that one! Then you follow the road, turn in through these beautiful gates, continue up the drive through another set of gates and in to the entrance courtyard of that very castle! It is so beautiful you can't help feeling like a princess!

Disliked: the only slight disappointment was with the dinner-we were offered the dinner special at £9.95 for 2 courses, but when we arrive it was school dinner style buffet with trays and plates clearing after-for £9.95 these days you can get 2 courses in restaurants that serve you at re table and clear up after you!

Liked: The Castle is beautiful, and the common rooms are brilliant - huge rooms and many of them. The food served was excellent and good value for money. The staff were very nice and the castle was quiet during the day, so you really felt like you had the run of the place.

Disliked: The bedrooms are small and all have bunk beds which is a pity if you are going as a couple. If the bedrooms could accomodate couples this would be the perfect destination.

Liked: Very beautiful area, and the hikes were amazing!!

Disliked: While their is internet, it is not not free, and only works in one area of the castle.

Liked: Essentially the place, the ambiance of the castle

Disliked: - the price : I paid 3 adults and we were 1 adult and 2 childrens (12 and 15)=> the problem was on the site of hostelbrookers they said and that you don't propose childrens tarif. I show tem my reservation and the problem. They didn't want to make me the reduction. I don't really appreciate (I was a french tourist, it was easy for them to said what they want) - the place to eat is too small and they were groups which used them all the time. not good to eat stand up in the kitchen. - no hot water in the showers by night - the value for money, the badest we had in scotland !!!!

Liked: Sleeping in a (real) castle in Scotland is a great experience! Staff is friendly, the place is beautiful, the family room (4 beds) was nice and comfortable with an authentic old fireplace! Don't expect luxury though, although the entrance hall is really waht you can expect to see in a Palace: statues, paintings...

Liked: It was huge rambling castle. Fantastic. Lots and lots of the original furniture and fittings. I spent most of the evening photographing it. Brilliant fun.

Liked: This was a great hostel, not only was it was amazing to stay in a real highland castle but the staff was so nice and and the facilities were very clean, I would recommend this hostel to everyone.

Liked: Everything about this hostel is absolutely fantastic! Marvellous place to stay in, a must!! If you pass anywhere near here, stay here for the night!
