Liked: The comments on here don't seem to be great, and I honestly cannot see why!!! I hardly ever follow hostelbookers up with a rating, but Katia deserved it - such an awesome little apartment, as soon as you arrive, she's waiting to explain the map to you and everything you need. She went out of her ways more than once to book things for everyone that was staying there, and tiredly answered what were probably the same questions over and over again. More like staying at a friends cosy apartment than a hostel, but definately definately recommend it!

Disliked: Other people might say its crammed - I think its way better than the enoromous, sterile hostels in the big cities.

Liked: Ekaterina is the most helpful and enthusiastic hostess I have ever met! The hostel was clean and had a great location close to all the sights of the city. I throughly enjoyed my stay and would stay again!

Liked: Friendly staff

Disliked: far from the station (although this is clear on the website) very few real beds, mainly uncomfortable camper beds the layout of the rooms meant that if people stay up late and make noise other guests can't sleep - staff didn't stay at night very dirty bathroom - mainly dust and hair, easy to clean.

Liked: The owner, katia, was exceptionally helpful. She showed us all the sights, and took us on two nights out, effectively doubling as a tour guide. Incredibly good value for money!

Disliked: A tiny bit on the snug side, but this wasnt an issue for us.

Liked: It´s o.k. to stay here. Staff is very friendly and helpfull and speaks very good english.

Disliked: This hostel is so small. Everything happens in one room, doorbell included :-)

Liked: we only stayed there five minutes - there wasnt room for us - the fact we left was the best thing about it!

Disliked: too full. felt like people were crammed into it with no space to move - like you were there illegally. the hotel we were booked into was horrible. scary horrible corridors, nasty showers and toilets. showers were on the ground floor and we were staying on the sixth floor. i was very glad i was travelling with someone (and a man at that!).

Liked: - very friendly and enthousiastic staff. Although they are often not there at the hostel and it's just the guests (not a problem, unless you need something or have some questions) - self catering kitchen with free coffee and tea - laundry service

Disliked: - there is no free breakfast as is described (only the coffee and tea) - it is not really a hostel, more of a homestay at a student house - if you're looking for a clean place, this is not it!

Liked: it's more like a homestay for 9 people and you could get along with the other backpackers, which is a great thing.

Disliked: hmm only one toilet and shower attached together so if everybody is waiting it will be a problem.

Liked: Nice place, Katia is lovely she makes sure everyone knows everyone. Do make sure u let her know what time u will arrive as its more of an apartment then a normal hostel, recommend to stay!

Liked: Katia, the owner is great. Very nice and helpful. Cozy soviet era apartment. Washing machine for clothes, kitchen facilities, and free internet. Also, excellent supermarket less than 10 minutes walk. I stayed for 2 nights and really liked the homey feel. I would definitely stay again.

Disliked: Six or seven people is max for the size of this hostel. Any more than that and I think the one bedroom apartment would be too small. Other posters have complained about cleanliness. I agree that a little more attention could be spent on cleaning but its really not bad. Sheets were nice and clean.

Liked: It's very near to the main streets. Katia, the administrator is very nice and helpful. She suggested a lot of nice places to go, helped to order taxi, etc. Also, I could't find the entrance door, so she went downstairs to meet me.

Disliked: It could have wi-fi. Another suggestion, if possible, is to write a sign on the corner with the hostel's name and an arrow to help people to find the building door.

Liked: It felt like living in a home.

Disliked: There is no lift to get to the apartment, with heavy bags this was hard work and unfortuntely, there is no wifi.

Liked: Very cool to meet people. It's like an old appartement shared with friends.

Disliked: The bathroom is not clean (it's not a good feeling when your disgusted to put your feet on the flour after a shower). The apartment was crowded during the first night of our stay (9 people). 7 or 8 people at one time ok but no more please ! The laundry was clean, no problem with that, but don't watch under the beds !

Liked: Katya is the LOVELIEST person in the world! She is full of brilliant tips on where to go in Ekaterinburg, speaks perfect English and bends over backwards to help out... nothing is too much problem. The hostel itself is small but full of character: it feels very homely. It's a bit of a walk from the station (use her bus directions instead!) but once there, it's very quick and easy to get around the city. It's not the newest of hostels, nor the most spacious but gives a great feeling of staying in a real Russian home with the benefit of a friendly, smiley host. I would stay here again and recommend others to too!

Liked: Meeting Point felt like being at home. Kostia was a wonderful host and extremely polite and kind. I would recommend highly to anyone visiting Ekaterinburg. A home away from home. Stay here with confidence.

Liked: This place looks like an apartment where the furniture has been shifted around to accomodate seven beds. Two bunk beds in the living room (one behind the couch and one behind the dinner table) and a bunk bed and a bed in the en suite bedroom. Crowded is the word here. Also, the place wasn't particular clean.

Liked: Ekaterina was very helpful but when I stayed there was no one else in the hostel so was very lonely (especially after long Trans SIberian by myself)Hostel is very quaint, it looks like a little old ladies flat they have put beds in, I would definitely recommend it though.
