Liked: The owner was very kind and helpful, but there is no staff who stays at the hostel. There is no "front desk"

Disliked: The walls need a fresh coat of paint. The carpets are very dirty and the shower doesn't drain.

Liked: The host. Speaks good English, is very friendly. He picks you up from the metro station and gives good tips!

Disliked: Shower water was not clean. Moreover, a disgusting 10 cm water was blocked over our feet during the shower.

Liked: The hostel is not visible from the street. In fact, you appear to be like any other resident of St. Petersburg returning home by walking into one of the many courtyards to reach your apartment. I liked this very much. It did not draw attention to the fact that I was a tourist.

Disliked: The plumbing seems to be an issue. All the fixtures (toilets, sinks, showers) work but they leak. A big leak near the showers has split the hardwood floor in the hallway, which may have been the source of the mosquitoes that were in my room.

Liked: It is in the downtown area however, distances in saint petersburg are quite long so many times you need to use transportation and the nearest metro station is not so close (aprox 900m far). However this is not a problem and in general, the hostel is well located.

Disliked: There are no signs nor publicity nearby the hostel so you can recognize it once you reach the address given.

Liked: It was very close to the center. Easy to walk from the main sightseeings to the hostel.

Disliked: Very difficult to find. Hidden in a backyard and no signs on the door. Every sign was different! They must have had fleas. My sister and me had over 60 bites on our body. Weren`t so many mosquitos!

Liked: The instructions for finding this hostel are accurate, and Igor who runs it generously offers to collect people from the nearest metro.. if you dont avail yourself of this offer, its a little difficult to find the hostel once you hit the courtyard.. however its on top floor..look for YHA symbol in window. Igor was exceptionally helpful in getting our visa vouchers.The hostel itself is calm and situated in a quiet, once well to do area close to the river. The guests whilst we stayed were all ages, nationalities and friendly .

Liked: only problem is finding hostel. When you arrive there is only one sign high up and if you dont see it nobody knows its there. Also need to state 24 receptiononly by phome. When i arrived I couldn't get in for 2 hrs coz no one there

Liked: I really liked how helpful stuff is. Even though isolation is not super good, it was really nice and we could rest after the long walking tours through the city. Stuff in the hostel is very nice and easy going. They definitely need better door system and sonme bigger sign to find them easely.

Liked: location from metro chernishevskaya quite far,about 20mins by walking or more.to hermitage about 20mins or more by walking.it's hard to find the hostel,but no worries,just give them a call and somebody will pick you up.the hostel located on 5th floor,and no lift! but i'm very satisfied with this hostel.highly recommended!

Liked: The rooms were clean and good enough for the money. The staff wasn´t there most of the time. But when they were, they were helpful. The only thing is that it was really hard to find the place. The hostel is in the yard (which you´ll be afraid to enter for the first time) and there are no signs all the way. It´s not even written on the house itself. The only sign is hanged up in the window on the fifth floor! So you either have to be lucky enough to meet someone who lives in the same house and knows about the apartment - hostel to let you in or phone the owner.

Liked: This was an amazing find! Wonderfully located it is a stones throw from the Hermitage and has everthing you need for a comfortable stay including a great breakfast. I would highly recommend it.
