Liked: You have to know that they will send you to their other hostel - Sharm Hostel anyway!!!- so if you are not a group (bigger one) simply book Sharm... dont you think that it's a bit tricky...and because o that my rating is actually about SharmHostel...:Staff was really friendly and helpful!!!It's a great place for those who want to spend evenings in a very peaceful and quiet place...looking for fun - go somewhere else! eg. Cubahostel...

Liked: It is a verry clean and warm place. Its not too big and has this russian charm, something in between old soviet flats and the kitch of new Saint-Petersbourg. And its close to the center.

Liked: I stayed in the second building, about 500 meters from the main building. The two employees sharing the work there were very friendly, helpful and spoke great English.

Liked: It was really good to have a kitchen and our own food. The location was really good too, nice quiet street. (We actually stayed at Zimmer Sharm, another of their premises).

Liked: The location is great - a couple of minutes from Nevskiy Prospeky. Nearby is a variety of restaurants and internet cafes. Free visa registration is a bonus. I was in a room in the "dorm next door" - not in one of the rooms at the main entrance. I'm sure the better rooms are in the area near the reception desk. I got eaten alive by mosquitos in July, the traffic noise was LOUD, and the beds very saggy. But there's not yet a lot of choice in SP so finding a better deal will require some luck. Try for one of the nicer rooms and don't forget insect repellent in summer!

Liked: A very good hostel indeed. The hostel manager is very helpful (he speaks decent english, a big + since none of us speak any Russian at all). The hostel has a main site and some sites outsides, the double room in the main site is the best.

Liked: Zimmer Ertel has a great location, not far from Nevsky Prospekt. It's also a good place to meet fellow travellers from around the world.

Liked: Had a good iron & ironing board. Never a queue for the showers or toilets. Staff were friendly. Possessions were safe in rooms.

Liked: Igor was very friendly, when we got to the hosteal it turned out we were actually staying in one a bit further away but he took us in his van and gave us a quick guided tour of the local area on the way. people were very friendlly, and met a few other travellers and spent some time with them. the sofas in the tv room werent very comfortable tho! and the only other bad thing was that the kitchen was the only place they allowed smoking inside. as a non smoker i found this a bit strange, would have preferred it somewhere else!
