Liked: the staff is super nice and can help you with whatever questions you might have. the hostel is fairly small so it is super easy to meet people. the location is great as it is very close to a metro station and the moscow train station. oh yeah, there is free laundry and breakfast too.

Disliked: the staff might have hid the big lebowski dvd as they must have seen it 1000 times:)

Liked: Its a snug place but its a home for travellers, which in my experience I have found to be very rare experience. The staff felt like my friends and they were very helpful(they helped us book our train tickets to Moscow and found the best deal). I met alot of people, one who I am still in contact with. I wish that my stay could have been longer because I missedout on the pub crawl! The facilities are great, They have a good wireless and a computer as well as a phone to call internation numbers for free! The kitchen is stocked with spices and the breakfast is simple, but that jam is to die for!

Liked: Staff was great and helpfull, it is still a long walk from here to the other side of the nevsky prospect

Disliked: There are to many people on one location, its to small for all the people that stay there. I had to pay extra when a girl was in my room for 3 hours...

Liked: Really nice little hostel. Good location, very helpful and friendly staff, lots of good facilities on offer like internet, washing machine, tea and coffee, breakfast, common room. Also a great place to meet travellers if you are on your own - there are events organised pretty much every day.

Disliked: Only one downside - the hostel is basically a large apartment with the bedrooms bordering the common room. Means that every single noise is heard and people are less free to chat in the hostel at night. To the guy playing the guitar - please stop torturing everyone with your horrendous singing voice. NO ONE wants a man singing off key at 10am. Cheers.

Liked: Amazing place, probably the best hostel i have ever stayed in! Great staff, clean, nice atmosphere. They make it feel like your home and really understand what travellers want and need. Great kitchen, with free washing machine (they even give you powder!). Free net and phone for international phone calls. Lockers in room with your own powerpoint inside. They organise lots of things in the evenings,but in general the hostel is quite quiet and relaxed, it really does feel like home, and so people treat it like home and are very respectful of each other. I really can't speak highly enough of this hostel.

Liked: This hostel pays attention to detail--right down to having individual electrical outlets in each locker. The staff was helpful, the location is perfect and the hostel itself is homey. The kitchen is large and fully stocked. They do fun events through the week like pancake tasting, Mafia games, and market day tours. We stayed in another hostel in St. Petersburg before we found this one and it just does not compare!!! Soul Kitchen is without a doubt the way to go!

Disliked: Registration for your Visa here is 700 rubles which is a little rough. Other hostels will do this cheaper.

Liked: fantastic atmosphere, fantastic staff. We have a lot of travel experience, but this hostel is definitely part of our personal top 3 hostels we've ever been to.

Liked: Free Wi-Fi, free international calls, very helpful and friendly staff, the room in stayed in was quite spacious, excellent location for the main station to Moscow.

Liked: It was really comfy and nice, the staff were SO SO helpful, the kitchen and the breakfast (although nothing fancy) were much appreciated too. Nice touch with the water filter too!! I had thought other comments saying it was the 'best hostel they had ever stayed in' was going to be overrated but actually I would base all future hostel stays on this one.

Disliked: Showers were just okay. That's probably my only 'dislike'. It was also ridiculously hot when I was there (and the aircon in the common room didn't really flow through) and I got massively attacked by misquotes despite insect repellent - though neither are issues the hostel could really help!

Liked: The staff were amazing - really helpful. It's small but its great and a really well planned place i.e. charging units in the lockers etc.

Liked: Very fun atmosphere. Helpful staff which actually brought us to the mystical Ass Bar. Free pancakes on certain days and other baked goods were made by the staff for us! :) Can come in at 6am from partying and get welcomed with a smile.

Liked: My stay at Soul Kitchen Hostel was very good. Location next to the Moscow Station and Metro was excellent, however it was a bit of a walk from town. Some staff were more helpful than others. It was a good place to mett other travellers.

Liked: Almost every aspect of this hostel was perfect - the facilities, the staff and the atmosphere in particular were fantastic. Plus they have communal vodka in the freezer!

Disliked: It's a little cramped and you can't use the kitchen after a certain time at night because of the neighbours

Disliked: Too hot inside the hostel, like an oven. they don't provide even a simple fan. It however be exellent in winter time only.

Liked: The hostel was clean, comfortable, and had a very well stocked kitchen which made it easy to make our own meals. The staff was incredibly helpful and organized a number of impromptu events (I'm usually not one for joining in on hostel games, but who can argue with "free Russian pancakes now served in the kitchen?"). As for the location: it is a bit of a walk to the major attractions (though a beautiful and easy to find walk), but I would gladly make this sacrifice for the luxury of having the hostel be one block from the train station and having such a short walk while hauling your bag upon arrival and departure. Overall, highly recommended.
