Liked: The kitchen was a good size.

Disliked: Uncomfortable beds. Not very near the centre, had to get metro into centre. There weren't many other backpackers staying there, and it didn't feel like a hostel.

Liked: I liked the staff -- very helpful. I enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the location near a metro stop and walking distance to the Peter and Paul Fort, etc.

Liked: Price was good and hostel near to a metro station.

Disliked: One extra night cost more than that was when booked online due to "some policy". Quite a lot older people, though I consider them to be better roomies than some drunken teenagers that we might have had :)

Liked: The guys at reception were so friendly, and really went out of their way to help me out, printing out maps for supermarkets, photocopying my registration and visa forms, doing my registration for 200R which is well worth it - takes ages to fill in all the boxes online! Really welcoming, and they made me feel right at home in St Petersburg, my first stop in Russia. They have filtered water, so you can drink from the tap, and a kitchen.

Disliked: A mosquito in the room which I failed to catch! :)

Liked: It's very near to metro Sportivnaya, which is only one or two stops from the city center. There were a couple of cafes and a small convenience store also really near. The staff I spoke with, Yana and Andrey, were both very helpful in looking up information for me, or printing out or drawing maps. I had my own cabinet to put my things in and lock up during the day, so I didn't have to worry about it while I was out. For the price, it's a good place to stay, especially for a couple of days if you're mainly just looking for a bed to sleep in and a hot shower.

Disliked: There's a community fridge to share, and someone decided to 'share' some of my foods/drinks which I had placed in the fridge, but to be fair, this may be more about Russian culture of shared things and shared space, and not so much about the hostel. (o: While I quite enjoyed my stay, and nothing particularly bothered me, for someone expecting European standards in a hostel, you should know that this is Russia and the buildings codes or buildings themselves are much different. Consider it part of the cultural experience. (o:
