Liked: Small, but nice hostel. To find it - it is in inner yard, where you can see 11 number from the street, just another door. And don't be afraid of staircase - thats not in good condition, but hostel is. I enjoyed my stay, and it looks like workers there is always glad to see travelers from different countries.

Liked: Its really difficult to find (Its in a backstreet with no sign). We search 2 hours. But its a perfect and cheap way to stay in Moscow.

Liked: We had a very nice stay in Comrade. The place was cheap, clean + friendly staff. Location is convenient, close to a subwaystation. It's a good option to stay when visiting the city!

Liked: Amazing location! It's close to all the main things, without being in middle of tourist-land. The rooms are extremely clean, and so are the showers. The staff is extremely helpful and speak English (which is NOT common). By far one of the best hostels I've ever stayed into.

Liked: I have learned all russian hostels are in apts 3 or 4 floors up, direction could be better, after mcdonalds walk 100 steps to a small arch on the left, across from a shop called damas. Turn in to the courtyard, go left, find a steel door to walk up 4 floors. The stairs are awful, don't be discouraged. Hotsel is good value, showers warm, kitchen basic & reception very helpful. They booked a ticket to the bolshoi ballet online for me, but as far as info to go to Suzdal etc. you are on your own. For an indep. traveller who tends to just sleep there cook a little this is a great place & the best money for value. For metro & visa info check out napoleon hostel online, but stay at comrade hostel basically the same facilities for a lot less & 1 block away, also comrade registers your visa for 500 rubles everyone else charges 700+.

Liked: Free Internet 24h/day, good location (less then 2 blocks from good metro station, 5-7 min walk to the Kremlin).

Liked: Good characters, the hostel is set up in such a way that it makes it easy to mingle with your fellow traveller and meet people. Made new friends here which is always a good thing.

Liked: Extremely friendly staff. They assisted us with all our questions regarding and were knowledgeable about area.(one note: in Sept. 2008 the 2nd shower was being renovated; I assume this will be complete shortly)
