Location good, close to a metro thats a few jumps to the centre of town. Staff friendly, a little over booked when we were there, but very accommodating

A little too many people and security cameras maybe, but this hostel is the very essence of an hostel for backpackers: friendly atmosphere, all facilities, good flexibility and helpful staff.

Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff with good humour and good manners. All all the furniture is from Ikea which is a good standard for a hostel and a guarantee that you will sllep well. The location is great: just a block away from the metro station, a convenience store and a rolling market that was set twice during a the week. The toilets and kitchen were always clean. Extra Info: Russians do not smile a lot but thay are all very friendly. To make them smile you just need to learn the very basic russian greetings and be polite. Flowers are never given in pairs. You do not have to be scared of the police if you are dressed up decently. We had a very pleasant stay in Moscow. I would go back to Lenin Hostel again

very good located, near the subwaystation

The staff were pleasant enough, though I don't recall there being a travel/tours desk (that would have helped as Moscow is quite scary!) or free tea and coffee. And no laundry servive either.

The staff can be very unfriendly, but it depends on who you get. The lady who owns it is really rude and abrupt and one of the guys is constantly drunk or mashed (and who struggles to remember why he is talking to you, or why he is getting you clean sheets), but there are two young girls who are really helpful and friendly. Just dont turn up from your flight early hours of the morning, otherwise the staff will be drunk and nearly lose your passports. Overall, it's pretty clean and the free internet is handy. Good place to meet people and pretty handyly located near the tube station, also try and find somewhere else to get visa registration done cos it's pretty expensive here.

The hostel had some staff turnover when we were there which led to a few problems but assuming they get sorted out I would recommend staying there. What I liked best was that you could contact the owner if you had a problem (who was American) and he definitely put them right and took his customer service very seriously. I can't fault his committment to sorting our problems out and he went above and beyond which made all the difference. Thanks Dan!! For this reason I would recommend this hostel.

Staff were helpful. It was a very good hostel for the price. Free internet was great although only one computer meant that there were sometimes long queues. Great location, about 15 minute walk from Red Square. Clean and attractive, decent kitchen.
