Liked: the location

Disliked: very badly organised, despite ringing to confirm booking two weeks in advance they had no record of it, we were lucky enough to arrive early and were able to make a new booking but saw six people arrive that day who had bookings be turned away into the snow

Liked: nice hostel..! met some cool guys. with the kitchen we felt like ourselves at home, so we cooked delicious pasta. the most important thing is, the Bulgakov hostel has almost the best location among all the hostels in Moscow..!! Arbat is the soul of Moscow city...!

Disliked: only problem is, that the door should be 'locked' rather than just 'hung up'...

Liked: I met nice people at the hostel. But there is nothing really that I liked about the property except maybe the price.

Disliked: This hostel should now be renowned on this website as being professionals of overbooking. I stayed for three nights and almost everyday, people were sleeping on the couch. If you don't get there before 5pm, don't expect to have a bed even with a reservation! And if you get there early because of an early train, they may not help you before 1pm (check-in time). The staff doesn't really seem to care very much about their job. The kitchen has very limited space. Bedrooms are packed with bunk beds, barely any space for luggage.

Liked: Great location, very clean, helpful and tolerant staff - good place to start partying in Moscow, with HardRock Café, Starbucks and McDonald's nearby.

Disliked: Wanted to give us 6-beds room instead of 4-beds room, which we originally booked. But it worked out to get the right room through insisting on our reservation.

Liked: Really good hostel, much nicer than we had expected or experienced at other hostels!!!!!! The hostel was very homey, nice and clean and staffed 24hours a day; the location of the hostel was central and close to everything wich I found great and appreciated a lot. Besides, the neighborhood was safe. The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend it and hope to be back there again.

Liked: I enjoied staing in hostel, comfotrafle location - 10 min from Kremlin and Red Squaer, good atmosphere, friendly staff, clean rooms and cosy kitchen. They has al that you needs. Reccomend

Liked: It was very good located

Disliked: i paid i diferent price for my stay, the person responsable for the reservations said that the kind of room that i´ve booked was not available, so i paid more for another double room that looks like the one that i´ve booked, and i was in the lobby and listen the same thing with other guest that have just arrive...it seems like a scheme to get more money

Liked: Great location, just off Arbat Street, a very nice area. Very tastefully decorated hostel with lots of character. Very friendly, English-speaking staff.

Liked: It's a good place in Mocow, it's near the Kremlin.Arbat Street is very nice.

Disliked: When we arrived, the receptionist wanted to put us in lots of different rooms. Our reservation specified 1 twin, 1 dbl, 1 dorm six beds, 1 dorm five beds and 1 dorm four beds. But the receptionist said it was not possible. Fortunately there were nice customers who agreed to change rooms. The rooms were very dirty, empty beer bottles on the floor, ashtrays full. Once installed in the rooms, we had to clean because it was really dirty.

Liked: I was not very impressed but it is ok for a couple of nights, we stayed in a dormitory and the rooms are very small, I think the private rooms are much better, I would stay again as there was nothing wrong wrong with the hostel but if you are not saving money I would look for another place.
