Liked: The proprieter was very interesting to talk to and it felt like a "real Russian" experience. However, one night was enough.

Liked: Ekaterina is a lovely woman, smiling and interesting. Thank you, it was a real pleasure meeting you. The hostel is easy to reach wth frequent (and cheap) buses from/to the city center and train station. So the fact that it is not in the center doesn't really matter.

Liked: The place would be really nice, if it wasn't so incredibly dirty and run-down. you can't really use the kitchen or the common room, because there's old food and rubbish lying around everywhere. Also the rest of the apartment is full with old stuff, so the atmosphere ist not really nice. It's pretty far out of town and really hard to find. Positive: Hot shower and internet, helpful staff

Liked: The place is okay, even though remote from the center of the city and pretty hard to find. Not the cleanest and the funniest place, but it seems that competition in the hostel business is pretty low in Kazan...

Liked: Kate (the owner/manager) is helpful/friendly... but they are running a second business out of this tiny, cramped location. The internet exists to serve this other business. Dishes, glasses, etc are disgustingly dirty...and i mean they haven't been cleaned in a long time and are are quite old. The refrigerator has products in glass jars half-used but with no lids. Also, hostels in Moscow were the same price or lower... and in much better condition.

Liked: It's more like staying at somebody's home, in a suburbian quarter, but with all facilities at proximity, to taste some of the realities of russian life. Atmosphere is very friendly and warm, but cleanliness is the weak point of this hostel.
