Liked: It's just a new hostel, properly organized by experienced owners and well furnished. Location and surroundings are very authentic - old wooden houses around and hostel itself. They offer some usefull services, free internet access also good.

Liked: The hostel is located right in the city center, very close to everything - ATM, cafes, sights. I really enjoyed my stay. The street of the place is silent and calm, but city life is just around the corner. Many beautiful wooden buildings around. Hostel is clean and comfortable. Good common kitchen. Reading light at the bed is useful :) Chill-out area is not so big but relaxing. The staff was very friendly. Good point to plan and start your Baikal trip. Recommended!

Liked: Very friendly staff, and a warm and spacious hostel made me feel very comfortable. Minivan pickup from front door for Olkhon Island aswell. Mini mart opposite building, across road.A member of staff twice took my girlfriend to the dentist as she needed urgent treatment, and acted as a translator. Very cool.

Liked: It's a nice hostel with everything you could need (although the breakfast is poor), although they are a little over-keen to make extra money from you by charging for internet, getting travel tickets etc. Even so far as to lie to you, saying that the minivans booked through them will take you to Olkhon Island quicker than normal ones, when in reality they are the normal ones and you're paying 200 roubles extra for the privilege of being driven to the bus station and sitting there for over an hour. Also saying that there were no trams running early in the morning, when there were loads, so that they could charge for booking a taxi wasn't appreciated! But if you can avoid this silly money-grabbing policy it really is a nice hostel to stay at.

Liked: Atmosphere was really nice. It felt like home. Staff was nice. Shower was ok, but it can turn out to be quite busy. Also voice isolation is really poor. Every step someone takes in room next to your sounds like giant's jumps.. Breakfast was nice :)

Liked: It was a wonderful stay! The hostel itself is small and somewhat cramped, but the facilities are clean and well-kept, the staff remarkably helpful (and English-speaking), and the fellow travelers friendly. :)

Liked: Downtown Hostel is a perfect place to stay if planning to visit Irkutsk. Located within the city centre and only a walk away from the train station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone planning a stay in Irkutsk.

Liked: The location is pretty good, but it can be a bit difficult to find at first. The area is not the best at night and make sure that you check your migration card before you left to make sure that they give you the correct one back.

Liked: Fun place and great location. I did ask for pick up from train as advertised but they didn't do this due to me arriving at 6am however it is really easy to get to

Liked: Great place to start tours to lake Baikal. Hostel is very small (2 rooms) with only one bathroom. Nice place, nice helpful stuff but lockers would be great.

Liked: this was a clean hostel and the staff were helpful. but there was no one at the hostel when we arived.be warned some of the beds are very hard and there was construction work going on in the building so lots of noise.
