Liked: The hostel was clean, and the staff was friendly.

Disliked: Several things. First, you have to pay for internet usage, and the internet is very slow dial-up. So you have to pay out a lot of money for just waiting for webpages to upload. Second, the staff wasn't very helpful in certain questions I had. For example, they told me that the train to Ulaanbaatar was either 7 or 15 hours, but the train was really 33 hours. It just seemed that you had to pay for any service you wanted, and it made my stay there very expensive unexpectedly.

Liked: This is a small hostel with lots of charm. The staff are especially friendly and the little kitchen is a great place to meet people, there wasnt a night that i stayed there that i didn't have great company.The location isn't all bad as it allows for a matrushka ride through the suburbs, time to enjoy the real irkutsk.

Liked: We thought the staff and the customers were very pleasant and they helped us to organise our 2-day excursion to nearby Olkhon Island. The higiene was excellent and, as far as safety is concerned, we felt fully confident about leaving our baggage in the hostel whilst exploring Irkutsk. The only problem is that the indications to reach the hostel were unclear and we got lost as a result of that. Luckily, though, the owner came and looked for us in the street!

Liked: The staff (Nadya, Natasha and Elana(sp?) ) were all fantastic - their help help make my stay something to remember. Natasha helped me find my way around Irkutsk and Nadya was very helpful with general info. Great staff - best that I meet in Russia!

Liked: Although being difficult to find (it has a tiny sign at the side of the building) it was worth the search. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hostel has a warm, homely atmosphere and decor - perfect respite from the cold outside! (They provide visa registration for 300R) I wish we could have stayed longer here.
