Liked: three room private apartment. We rented the twinroom, the bed was really old but everything else was fine. Free coffee en tea in the kitchen.

Liked: Very easy to find - the directions are precise.A warm welcome in excellent English.Security is fine as you can get into the hostel through 2 locked doors, to which you are given electronic keys.5 minute walk to the city centre.

Liked: It was pretty average, clean, kitchen use etc. Only real probalem was there being noone resident there who could answer the door when you arrived. We were lucky - but some peole arrived to find noone home and were left to wait for hours on end, despite having told the hostel when they were arriving.The double room looked like a bargain - bigger than the dorm and only slightly more expensive.

Liked: Apartment in a building, nothing fancy, decent location. Word of caution, however: while the neighbourhood may be fine, I entered the hostel a few days after I left with the front door opened. Not only did I have time to put my bags down and wait 15 minutes, but even took a shower because it was a hot day. Still, no one showed during that time. Just make sure you lock your bags - in the rare occasion a thief entered the building.

Liked: This was by far the best hostel weve been to in Russia (weve been here for more than 3 weeks). The easy-to-find location is perfect, its walking distance from the train station and the center. The hostel is very clean and the rooms are spacious and in perfect condition, the kitchen is equiped and very clean, also the bathroom is clean and has hot water, and we even got a free upgrade to the better double room. We were also allowed to leave our luggage here when we left to Olkhon and we could stay in the hostel the day we took the late evening train to Mongolia. Leonid, the owner, is very friendly and a great source of information and he also organises nice tours to Olkhon Island/ Lake Baikal.

Liked: This Hostel 's really private hostel, no staff here (but you can call to staff anytime). Feel like a home. The kitchen is very useful.

Liked: Quite conveniently located - quick walk to the main square.Owner very helpful. He sorted out our visas for us for a small fee, even though we were only staying at that hostel for one night.

Liked: It was located in a nice, quiet spot. Unfortunately it was very hard to find as the map provided was not detailed enought to allow you to navigate the back streets on which it was to be found. It was very cosy, and i met some fun people there.
