The owner of the Burg-Hostel is the Centre for Interethnic Youth Education founded in 2000.
With the help of the Stuttgart Institute for Foreign Relations the medieval building complex could be restored and turned into a hostel using funds from the Federal Republic of Germany in the framework of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe. The proceeds of the hostel and restaurant benefit ibz projects. The ibz centre is active domestically and abroad in the fields of interethnic dialogue, extracurricular youth and career education as well as cultural work.
Its most significant project is the organisation of the festival “ProEtnica – Days of Ethnic Communities in Romania”, which has taken place annually in the second half of August since 2001.
