Burg Hostel

Situated in the medieval citadel of Sighisoara, an Unesco world-heritage site.

The hostel, located in the centre of the citadel, is made up of a set of 17th century buil dings and can host up to 60 guests in 16 comfortable rooms.
It provides ideal accommodation for school classes and students as well as solo travellers and families.
A seminar room and recreation room are available for use at no charge. Our kitchen offers both local and international specialities.
Our Culture Pub has an extensive drink selection as well as DSL and wireless Internet.
We offer a 10% discount for youth hostel members.

The owner of the Burg-Hostel is the Centre for Interethnic Youth Education founded in 2000.
With the help of the Stuttgart Institute for Foreign Relations the medieval building complex could be restored and turned into a hostel using funds from the Federal Republic
of Germany in the framework of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe. The proceeds of the hostel and restaurant benefit ibz projects. The ibz centre is active domestically
and abroad in the fields of interethnic dialogue, extracurricular youth and career education as well as cultural work.
Its most significant project is the organisation of the festival “ProEtnica – Days of Ethnic Communities in Romania”,which has taken place annually in the second half of August
since 2001.
