Jugendbegegnungszentrum Seligstadt

The rebuilt parsonage offers 34 beds in 5 rooms: a 4-bed-room, two 6-bed-rooms, an 8-bed-room and a 10-bed-room. All rooms have bunk beds, only the 4-bed-room has single beds and an own bathroom with shower and lavatory.

The youth hostel Seligstadt is situated in the green hills of Southern Transylvania, directly beneath one of the oldest Saxon church-fortresses. Explore untouched nature in total tranquility and the rich cultural heritage of the Saxons, which unfortunately is in decay. Relax while taking a step backwards in time: Mobile phones have not yet found their way into this village, and horse carriages are far more common than cars. Seligstadt offers wonderful hikes through the surrounding nature reserve and trips to Saxon monuments and medieval towns nearby. The house accommodates up to 58 people in dormitories, it has a huge apple-tree-orchard with a Hollywood-swing and fire place and various leisure facilities indoors (pool, ping-pong) we offer horse-carriage-rides, hikes and trips. Ideal for large youth and student groups, horsemen, hikers, bike and motorbike fans.

Accommodation Information

The old school offers 24 beds: a 6-bed-room, an 8-bed-room and a 10-bed-room.
All rooms have central heating; the furnishing is simple and rustic. Beddings are provided; showers and lavatories are in the hallway.
For a group of at least 15 people, the price for board and lodging starts at 12 €, without board it starts at 5, 5 €.
A lunch costs 4, 5 €, breakfast and dinner costs each 3 €.

Location Information

Selistat is a small village of not quite 200 inhabitants in the Green Harbach-Valley, which is a Natura-2000-reserve with a number of rare bird species and plants. There are a number of hikes and trips to the great Saxon monuments, the church-fortresses built 700 years ago. Sighisoara, the medieval town famous for its historic centre (UNESCO-World-Heritage-Monument) is only 40 km away. Vlad Tepes, better known as Earl Dracul is supposed to have been living there for several years.
