Liked: Very clean, quiet & modern HI hostel (opened in 2009). The included breackfast is OK (bread, cheese, ham, coffee, tea, chocolate, orange juice, corn flakes, yogurt). Beautiful couch to relax on the patio. Well situated near the train station and the historic towncenter. Helpfull staff. Tavira is a very nice little city for a romantic break beetween Faro and Sevilla.

Disliked: NO WIFI ! (but you can find a free WIFI acess at the public library or praça da Republica)

Liked: Very clean, spacious quiet rooms with access to bathroom, very good staff.

Disliked: Breakfast was not served until 8:30 a.m. but because i has to leave earlky they did accomodate me!

Liked: It was very new and close to the center of town and train station.

Disliked: I was in a room that looked a bit cramped and it was hard for me to reach the top-I am very short. Lucky for me that another roommate gave me hand. I was not there very much and the only reason I noticed is that the other hostels rooms were not so cramped but still it was great...like I said- I was barely there!

Liked: This is a great hostel with really nice facilities. Everything seems brand new. The rooms are spacious, with a cupboard for each guest.

Disliked: It was a little hot at night - no air con!

Liked: The drapes on the windows are effective at shutting out light AND air flow, so it was hotter inside than out in the morning...

Disliked: See above comments. The staff seemed more interested in towing a corporate line than in helping me out. Very disappinting.

Liked: Great location, very clean, very helpful staff, own kitchen to prepare your own meals, even for the price you get a breakfast, which is very much of help if you are traveling alone, and do not want to spend sitting alone in a restaurant alone.

Disliked: There was nothing, that I especially disliked.

Liked: Very comfortable beds, everything was spotlessly clean, very nice and helpful staff. Good and ample breakfast. As I came in off-season I had a whole 4-bed-dorm to myself!

Disliked: Only slight minus: Non-detachable shower heads, which I don't like for washing my hair.

Liked: Very new, modern, clean and comfortable hostel located in a quiet back street close to the centre of wonderful Tavira. There are at least three good take-aways located nearby and plenty of good restaurants in town as well as a number of good bars. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike about the hostel. Having an electric kettle would have helped, rather than boiling water on the hob, and a conventional oven for those cooking pizza's etc. But the hostel provides a good breakfast which is included in the price and, during the high season, lunch and dinner options are available is required.

Liked: Hostel amazingly clean with new furniture etc. Big dorm rooms. More like hotel quality than hostel quality in this repsect. Included breakfast was really good. Good location near the centre and staff knew about stuff to do in and around Tavira.

Disliked: Felt a bit quiet, not that many young people staying there, though this was probably because it was off season.

Liked: The hostel is really clean and modern. Staff were friendly and helpful and laundry available in a convenient location. The bed was ok, although very narrow and not against the wall so felt a bit precarious. Nice cupboard with drawers for stuff and even hangers! Really good modern kitchen.

Disliked: Very, very cold. Heating is coming but until then....my room was worse then some as it did not even have any sun coming in during the day. Inside the hostel was even colder than outside but at least there are lots of blankets. In winter though they should provide heaters like most places do. Also shower was quite cool 2 out of 3 days that I was there...not very nice in feb!

Liked: The accomodation is very big, so it's easy to escape and chill on one of the several couches and relaxing areas which are located everywhere in the building. The facilities are very clean and only shared of two rooms (= 8 persons max.). The kitchen is big and the stuff has a general friendlyness. Even the breakfast was nice and it's included in the price. It's good that they are not trying to put all the people in one room (in the case if it's not fully booked).

Disliked: What I didn't liked at the accomadation was: 1. nowhere is writen that you need the youthhosteling card to stay. I could stay because I have one but for further travellers it could be a bad surprise to pay more! 2. the toilets are very narrow. In same cases it's not possible to sit and close the door. 3. There are a lot of older people (50 years and more). Normally I don't have a problem with it but it's still a youth hostel and if there are only a few people you can feel really strange. To be honest, I saw no one else in my age or even in my generation. I don't know why older people are going to youth hostels even if they know that they are snarring. For me I tried to escape from the daily routine and have a nice night somewhere else but instead I couldn't sleep because I had to share the room with an older man who was snarring very loud. 4. There are no heaters. So be aware that it'll be very very cold in winter time!

Liked: This hostel is fantastic.Very confortable,clean and new.The localization is perfect,5 minuts walking from the train station and more 5 minuts walking to central square.All staff was very helpful.One special word to Joana,the simpaty in person.I recomend to everybody who visit Tavira.Best Hostel I was.

Disliked: Pedro left no negative feedback.

Liked: Excellent place to stay! Brand new place, friendly staff, bright and big rooms. Amazing value for money.

Disliked: Breakfast could be a bit better. But it was good enough, anyway.

Liked: The hostel was more than clean and had a very nice interior design touch to it. I would definitely stay there again. It was easy to find, and close to everything. The beds and rooms were very roomy and comfortable.

Disliked: Few problems still need to be corrected. The WIFI doesn't work. Lots of rooms and beds are actually rented by families and older people, who end up complaining about young people talking a bit loud. It should be explained to them that after all, this is a youth hostel and not a family guest house. The showers do not have a door, only a curtain, so you kind of have to undress in front of everybody...that is kind of a problem when a 7 year old boy is brushing his teeth in the bathroom you share with his family staying in the room next door.

Liked: Awesome building, just renovated, big room, well-lit and with a big bathroom. Stylish furniture. Lots of common patios with comfy couches. Good location, one of the best hostels ever.

Disliked: There's no Internet connection, but the staff pointed us to free internet-points nearby.

Liked: The hostel staff was really friendly and gave us some good ideas on stuff to do. We went to the peca de inferno (the waterfall) by bike, as per their recommendation. It was really a nice thing to see. They also had all of the bus and train schedules for the Algarve on hand. The breakfast area is really big, and they give you lots of food (cereal, bread, preserves, coffee or tea, juice, etc). The hostel is easy to find. The room is huge, and very nice. It was better than a lot of hotel rooms we've been to in Canada. The ensuite bathroom was good.

Disliked: Unfortunately, the shower doesn't work like a normal one. It sprays for about 30 seconds, and then automatically shuts off. It can be a bit of a pain, but that's really the only complaint!
