Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, this destination is well known for the natural and warm hospitality of the local people and its wonderful scenery, particularly along the course of the River Douro, where the grapes used for the famous Port wine are grow.
This capital of the north (as it often called) is the second largest city in a country which has offered the world a guarantee of quality in the major international events it has already hosted. In addition to being the European Capital of Culture in 2001, Oporto was also one of the main host cities for the “Euro 2004”.
Accommodation consists of comfortable and practical rooms. The attention paid to detail even extends to the provision of a floor with rooms for women only. Non-smoking rooms and a room for disabled guests are also available.
“Rios” Restaurant specialises in traditional local food, although it also offers international cuisine.
It can cater for 100 people and has a large outside esplanade.
Next to the lobby is the aptly-named “Meeting Point” bar, where there is live music on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9.30 to 11.30 p.m.
