 This accommodation is really a hotel more than a hostel and although 2* we found it to be exceptionally good quality. The room was a good size and our ensuite bathroom was really well equipped and very clean. The room had a television and a telephone and there was wi-fi internet access throughout the hotel. It's very well located within a few minutes walk to the beach, the metro station, local bus-stops and wonderful sea-food restaurants. There is a cafe-bar next door and several cafes in the vicinity. It is about 40minutes metro journey into Porto City Centre and only 10-15 minutes car journey to the airport (10-15 Euros in a taxi). The reception staff spoke very good English and French and were really helpful with all enquiries. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

It wasn't in the heart of Porto but when you stepped outside it had a metro stop connnecting to everything. There we're cafes next door to the hostel which served some delectable meals with 'more than reasonable prices'. The people that worked at Porto Mar we're exceptionally helpful and friendly. They even put on a smile when we came back steaming drunk and asked them to open up the bar, the boy even stayed with us and told us about the Porto history and what to expect from Lisbon when we arrived there the next day!

On the tram line. Parking in the street was free. Breakfast was good.

Probably the most enjoyable accommodation in our entire trip. Right on the tram line (but not noisy). Close to good restaurants. Supermarket next door. Staff fantastic.

The breakfast wasn´t good. the assortment was really bad. every day the same. just one cheese and one ham. no fresh fruit or eggs.
