Liked: Very friendly staff. good location, near via catarina and 2 shopping center's. Nice to meet other travelers. It's a bit "old fashion" residencial, but it's ok for 2 nights and the price. =)

Disliked: My room was a private one, but it did'nt have toilet, just shower. But there was a common toilet just in front the room.

Liked: The staff were nice. The place was safe. Very near to the center.

Disliked: It smell cigarrets all over the place. Can hear the noise outside because there is a bar downstair and the people were loud during the night and also can hear the cars that pass by during the night.

Liked: the people working there, especially the young lady, were nice and friendly. This is a place which hasn`t been renovated or refreshed for probably 50 years. If you wanna come, sleep and go without anything else or if you cant find anything else ...than you should book.

Disliked: There cant be smaller rooms I suppose. The bell rings so loudly and regularly until 1pm...horrible. Youngsters in front of the house listening to car radio music...jesus. Crowd in pub underneath us ...

Liked: There was a shower in the room itself. Staff on our second night was able to speak English. Centrally located although some of the road was bordered up.

Disliked: There was no breakfast included and internet was chargeable, although a little fee.

Liked: Very helpful and friendly staff - though don't all speak English. Location fairly central, ten minute stroll downhill to the centre. Offer of all inclusive three bus tours, boat down the river, Port refinery tour and tasting for €19.

Disliked: Metro is misleading. If you are coming from the airport it might be easier, but from the International coach station it is very hard to get the underground to the hostel. Taxi only costs €5. Location - street looks rather shabby. Noisy bar next door. VERY LOUD door bell that rings every time someone enters or leaves. Free internet involves using their computer. Many problems with plumbing - toilet won't flush or won't stop flushing, bidet leaks. No heating. Very cold at night. Yes it's cheap, but you get what you pay for . . .

Liked: This hostel is clean and have nice staff :)

Disliked: The location could be a bit better, but still it is good. To go to ribeira it takes about 20 min. but the shoping street via Catarina is near.

Liked: The staff were incredibly accomodating,

Disliked: it was freezing!! really really cold, we woke up shivering in our beds the first night there. Subsequently, we requested a heater to use over the remaining two days and were given one (thank God!). The rooms could do with a lick of paint too but hey, at 14 euro a night you can't really take issue with the interior decor!

Liked: Perfect location in the very city centre. No need to take any local mean of transport to visit the town. Bus and tube stops are only a couple of minutes walking. Several big shopping mall, restaurants and shop are also available in the neighbourhood.Staff has been very cheerful and helpful at any time.Wash basin and shower available in the room.Shared facilities were also clean.30 minutes of free internet surfing are also available, although with an old but still working PC.

Disliked: No TV or wardrobe in the room.
