Liked: Easy access to all transport links, central, clean and beautifully decorated rooms. Friendly hosts gave us a lot of usefull advises. Definitely would stay there again!

Liked: Nicely decorated rooms, very friendly & helpful staff.

Disliked: The first night we were woken up around 2am by travelers on the second floor talking (and shouting) on the floor above us. Also, bare in mind that the Guest House has squeaky wooden floorboards on every floor, so if you're a light sleeper like myself, and you happen to have some late-night or restless folks staying above you, it's more than likely you'll only manage about 4-5 hours sleep.. just like WE did!! Frankly I'm more than a little surprised that nobody mentioned in their review that this was NOT a quiet place to stay.

Liked: Very nice owner - helpful, personal, motivated to help & get to know foreign people. Always ready to help. cheap 2-person rooms very near the city center.

Liked: The room was very spacious, comfortable bed, the shower was hot, kitchen was decent plus there was a washing machine. The man who runs it is extremely helpful and gave us loads of information on where to eat cheap etc and was kind enough to mail directions and photo's of the guest house. It was within easy walking distance of the metro and there was a supermarket just down the road for cheap shopping.

Disliked: Nothing wrong with the property per say, however the area did not seem incredibly "inviting". Nothing went wrong and our luggage was safe in our room. I wouldn't have felt comfortable walking home alone at night though.

Liked: The location of the Guest House is very close to the main metro station. Pedro is a fantastic host, he gave us all of the important tips and suggestions during our stay. The interior was really typical ;) feels like home. It's worth to recommend it!

Liked: This place is the best value for money of all the places we have stayed in Europe. The host is super friendly and helpful with lots of tips on things to do in Porto and where to get the best value for money. There is good reliable wifi and it is very clean, with a well equipped kitchen. This is not a hostel but a guesthouse, as described by its name, and as such is an apartment with a number of private rooms.

Disliked: Although the owner lives onsite, you should try to make an arrangement beforehand to ensure he is home when you arrive as he is not there 100% of the time. The street is busy and there is no A/C of fans, so on a hot night it can be a little noisy with the windows open.

Liked: The owner/manager was extremely friendly and helpful and he took the time to show us on the map what were the best places to go. He also let us leave later than check-out time

Disliked: The hostel was situated in a slightly dodgy neighbourhood; there were prostitutes on the corner street and it all didn't feel really safe at night. The place was old and had seen better times, although it was reasonably clean. Our room smelt very powerfully of varnish so that we had to leave the windows opened but then early in the morning there were always very loud birds that woke us up and we had to close the window and then got suffocated by the smell. The kitchen was extremely small.
