1) PenicheSurLlodge is cheap, comfortable accommodation by the sea in Peniche, It is a family run business with over 30 years’ surfing experience and 25years working in tourism, who love the surfing life, so we love Portugal, especially Peniche as it has so much to offer all year round.We offer affordable luxury accommodation,surf lessons and equipment hire. We are within walking distance to the beautiful sandy beaches, Supertubos , supermarkets, restaurants, cafe/bars, shops and banks.

PenicheSurfLodge is more than accommodation ,not just for surfers for that quiet relaxing getaway for everyone. The Lodge is very comfortable cosy and friendly. Guests who have stayed here have described it as ‘like home. We are a fun loving surfing family and will do what we can to make your stay as pleasurable as possible. We have over 30 years of surfing experience our son is a sponsored surfer who enters competitions, so we can advise you on the right equipment and where to surf; we provide equipment and surf lessons, daily surf trips to the beach and organise other activities. Peniche is still warm and sunny in the winter, so you can have the best waves and less crowds from November to March .All year round we can arrange surf lessons with our local surf instructor .There are other attractions for example the Annual Carnival in Feb ,Parades through the streets and many parties in Peniche and surrounding towns like Obidos the historic village built within the castle walls holds many festivals ,the Chocolate festival in Feb. the Medieval festival mid summer ,the village is decorated ,the cobble streets are loned by stalls there is entertainment its lots of fun for everyone . All summer there are many festivals the local villages take turns to host there own over 6 -8 weeks ,they offer funfairs ,markets ,street side stalls selling gifts and fresh Portuguese cuisine also there are large eating areas to sit and enjoy the atmosphere later starts the entertainment, live bands ,dancing and DJs. We enjoy evenings out and visits to these local festivals and invite our guests to join us.

There are many other activities, Peniche is excellent for cycling as it is so flat. There are tennis courts, a skate park, fishing and other water sports. From spring there are boat trips from Peniche Mariner to the beautiful Berlingas Islands.In the summer there is an outdoor water park with great slides and lifeguards

PenicheSurfLodge is one lodge which accommodates 2 sellfcontained apartments,Papoa View is the more private accommodation downstairs and has 3 x ensuite rooms all with cable TV and Wi-Fi ,a fully equipped kitchen and back court yard with outdoor shower and BBQ and also the use of the upstairs large comfortable lounge and larger kitchen with balconies ,upstairs Ocean View has 2 x double rooms with and 5 bed dorm all with sea views and 2 x bathrooms.All can be rented shared accommodation or private.
Penichesurflodge can be rented as rooms only with shared facilities, private rooms with private bathrooms, apartments or the whole lodge for groups, please contact us for special deals as we are very versatile .

Location Information

PenicheSurfLodge is conveniently situated in Peniche town by Papoa Beach, a semi reef break and beautiful scenic cove and also walking distance to the 1st class wave spot Supertubos, The Bay, minutes walk down the road is a 3 km long golden sand beach which leads to Baleal and lined all the way by Dunes, offering waves all along to suit all levels of surfing ability and perfect for bathing or a long stroll or jog!
There are 2 large supermarkets very close by, as well as café/bars, restaurants and shops, a weekly market selling fresh local produce.
Peniche is a very unique town that’s culture remains strong; it is very beautiful and full of life, famous for being a fishing Port and its lace making,Peniche town used to be surrounded by the ocean ,which is now trying to be recreated by the authorities. It is within ancient walls and has its own fortress now a historic museum. Inside the walls it’s perfect for shopping there are many unique gift or clothes shops, as well as cafes/bars and restaurants near the harbour with its Mariner and a huge monthly market.
