Peniche Hostel Backpackers

Our Hostel, the first one in Peniche has been recognized by Lonely Planet and The Guardian.uk as one of the most charismatic hostels in the world.
Imagine a small fishing town surrounded by the ocean; the westernmost town in Europe. Now imagine a place to stay with simple and friendly people to greet you. A place where you can feel comfortable after a day full of excitement surfing at our beaches or a calm day spent walking with the seagulls.
Now you can also have surf classes.

It’s a place for all backpackers, surfers and/or people travelling alone or in small groups.
Our hostel, totally renovated in the late 90´s, is composed of 3 mixed dorm rooms for 4 guests each and 2 double rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. It allows travellers to have a good night’s sleep, to prepare their own meals, to do the laundry etc.

We have a nice lounge where you can enjoy a DVD or simply relax in the company of a good book. We also offer you 24 hours of free internet and surfboards and bicycles to rent.

Our hostel, totally renovated in the late 90´s, is composed of 3 mixed dorm rooms for 4 guests each and 2double room, a fully equipped kitchen and two bathrooms. It allows travellers to have a good night´s sleep, to prepare their own meals, to do the laundry etc. Please note our dorm room for €18pp from June to November is an interior room with a window that opens to the corridor. Our €20 dorm rooms have windows that open to the exterior of the building.

We have a nice lounge where you can enjoy a DVD or simply relax in the company of a good book. We also offer you 24 hours free internet, and surfboards and bicycles to rent.

Location Information

Peniche hostel is near the tourism office, at Rua (street) Arquitecto Paulino Montês number 6 on the 1st floor.

Peniche is privileged in several aspects, one of which is its wonderful seaside. This Peninsula is known worldwide for its perfect conditions for surfing. Here you can surf every day whatever the direction of the wind or swells. It´s perfect for all kinds of surfers. If you’re a beginner we can help you find the perfect surf school to improve your surfing. If you’re already an expert, you should come and enjoy the miles of great waves along our coast.

We are also close to night life activities, bars and restaurants.
Our central location makes it easy to access the nearby beaches or take fabulous strolls along the coastline. You can also enjoy the nearby gardens, the historic XIV century fortress, small churches and ancient buildings all over town.
