The Marine Nature Reserve of Rocha do Navio is another of its attractiveness. Santana is also in that lies the 3rd highest point of Portugal, Pico Ruivo, at 1862m altitude.
For many years the municipality of Santana was isolated from the more densely populated part of Madeira, which helped to retain unique characteristics.
