Quinta do Monte is a unique Madeira hotel located in the heart of the picturesque and historic village of Monte, perched in the hills of Funchal, only a two minute walk away from the cable car terminal and the departure point of the famous wickerwork toboggans.

This beautiful Manor house is a haven of relaxation and tranquility.

Embedded in the gardens, you will find the original Chapel of the Quinta do Monte that was meticulously restored to the last detail.

This hotel is the perfect place for a very relaxing holiday surrounded by beautiful nature and combined with an excellent five star service.

The original manor house was beautifully restored and now accommodates vast public areas including the lobby with reception, a lounge, a cocktail bar, a reading room and a billiard room. All these facilities still feature the original wooden floors and are decorated in the traditional style of the old Madeira manor houses with elegant antique furniture and Persian carpets.

All the tastefully decorated 42 rooms, including spacious family rooms and suites with up to four beds, are located in a new wing. They are equipped with bathroom, mini-bar, direct-dial telephone, and cable TV, private safe, air-conditioning/heating as well as a balcony overlooking the gardens and offering wonderful views over the Atlantic, the mountains and the city of Funchal.

As well as the heated indoor pool that was built on a higher terrace, thus offering maximum exposure to the sun, the hotel also provides a Turkish bath, a Jacuzzi and a fitness room.

Restaurant 'Monte Garden'
The Restaurant 'Monte Garden' keeps the traditional green flair of the antique manor houses of Madeira. It provides a superb panorama view over the extensive gardens. A complete ‘a la carte’ menu with a wide range of Madeira, Portuguese and international dishes, selected by the kitchen chef Bruno is available. A carefully selected wine menu of Portuguese and international wines compliments the fine cuisine.

For something slightly different, you may choose to eat in our delightful Winter Garden. Set behind glass, it is possible to enjoy your meal whilst looking out over the Centenary Garden to the ocean beyond.

Cocktail-Bar
Located in the main part of the Quinta do Monte hotel, this bar has a warm and comfortable atmosphere and is the ideal place for an aperitif or digestive. Here you may also enjoy the traditional Madeira "Royal Tea". On cooler evenings, relax by the side of a welcoming fire
