The atmosphere, the staff, the courtyard, the people

Wonderful staff, atmosphere, location. Even scrambled eggs for breakfast. Only thing, there could have been more bathrooms.

Fantastic hostel! Perhaps the best I've ever stayed in.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and more than apt to help. The rooms can feel cramped, but that just adds to the experience.

This was the best of the 15 hostels of my trip through Europe.

Everything pretty much. Possibly the best hostel ive ever stayed in. Sounds a bit that but it was really good. Free portuguese lesson, affordable home cooked meals by staff if you wanted, really good walking tour. Right next to Barrio Alto for all the bars but still quiet for when you wanted to sleep. Have stayed in all the Oasis hostels (in Sevilla and Granada) and this one is by far the best.

This is the best hostel I've stayed in - and I've been to a lot! The staff are fantastic, and the hostel has everything you need. It feels more like a home than a hostel, there's even 'Portugese mum' who cooks amazing dinners! A great place to meet people as well.

More like a house than a hostel - everything you need. Staff was great, views were awesome, dinners were terrific!

Fab place, helpful staff, like a B&B to stay in...a home away from home. However busy and loud place when you want to go to bed at a reasonable hour because of the bar and the fact that they allow large groups to book....would recommend this place but take your earplugs.

great vibe, cool staff, great place to meet people...

It was so comfortable and beautiful! It was in a great location, with a friendly and helpful staff... Also it was a great, inviting atmosphere to make friends... I would most definitely stay here again, and have already recommended it to friends!

good location, the staff were very helpful, everything was very clean, great atmosphere,... it was very comfortable to just hang out. it felt less like a hostel and more like staying at a relative's house. the only problem- i wish they would have orange juice at breakfast

The location is perfect: near the party district, but not too far from the historic center and the shopping areas. The ambiance is relaxed. The views are exquisite towards the harbour and the river. The breakfast is free and filling. The staff is super!

this hostel was more like a home than another random hostel. ill definately be telling everyone about it!!
16 March 2008
Almost everything, apart that it had a few issues with the cleanliness.

The common, dining area and bar area are clean and inviting. The location is perfect. The meals they serve are tasty and cheap and the staff is very friendly and young. Frankly, I didn't think hostels like this existed

I liked that we had a real kitchen in the separate house. This made it feel much more comfortable and homey.

almost everything!!!!!!! GREAT HOSTEL!!!! GREAT!!!!!
28 February 2008
Clean, spacious, feels like you are staying in a really cosy but big house. The 5 euro dinners are value for money as you nearly need to skip lunch to fit it in and the staff are very accommodating. The bathrooms are massive and the shower head is to die for.

the breakfast was really nice and they have a mom come and cook for 5 euro m/w/f. it was really clean and cozy. although, they overbooked us and we had to be crammed into a 2 person room one night, and the next night, there was one bathroom for 12 people which was problematic.
24 February 2008
The grop dinner was good value and a great way to meet people in the hostel.

Great common room, great staff, very clean. This hostel was perfect except for the bathroom situation. Only one bathroom for a lot of people...if you do get in to shower, it's most often cold water. Plus, the terrace closes at 11 o'clock for some strange reason. Despite the lack of bathrooms, one of the best hostels I've visited.
