 Location could not have been better, staff very friendly, 24 hour reception, rooms very basic and could do with a lick of paint, but more than good enough given the price

I rented the single room with bath. It also had an old TV. Even though only the maid responded to my hi's and bye's, I loved the place. It was cheap, they cleaned it every day, and, as others have stated on this site, it's located in the middle of the city. This is where the cafe's open eight in the morning, and restaurants close at midnight. It only takes ten minutes to walk down from Bairro Alto though, so the location really is really good.

Despite all the soothsaying, and warnings in previous comments i was very pleasantly surprised. From the outside it looks like war its seen a few wars... but the location is everything!!! The rooms are fine, cheap and clean! And did i mention the location?!

We liked the atmosphere outside of the hostel, the street is really buzzy...noisy...but we loved it...and the location is great....everything is close...the bathroom is new and clean...
