Liked: Good room - more like a small hotel than an hostel. There wasn´t a fan or air conditioning, so the room was pretty muggy. The staff were helpful, letting us know where to find cheaper restaurants.

Liked: Location of the hostel is excellent (right next to 2 metro stations & Rossio railway station, very close to Bairro Alto and the city center). We had a nice room with a window to the street, which is only for walking and no cars passing. The street is quite noisy until about 11pm, but after that it was easy to get sleep. The room and the bathroom were clean - I could only mention the fitted carpet as a bad thing, as they are always dusty, as well as the felts and pillows in the bed, even though the sheets were clean and nice. Before our visit we tried to get a confirmation of our booking from the hostel, but we didn't get any. Anyway everything was clear at the arrival, and the staff was very nice and helpfull. The reception was open 24 hours every day.

Liked: location excellent and helpful staff.p.s.rang hostelbookers help line and asked for them to check if there was a lift as travelling with baby and pram.Was told yes and when got there,there wasn't.Same with question of fridge.Not good info.Could have been a disaster. Just lucky grandma was there to carry pram upstairs.

Liked: A humble but clean place in the heart of the city, with kind and helpful staff, Portuguese poetry at the door and lots of restaurants around. With a little drop of imagination it can be really romantic ;)
