The building, built around 1800 used to be a palace owned by a rich family of Lisboa. It has been completely refurbished but it still maintains some amazing chimneys, 3 meter high ceilings with decors, and an amazing wooden floor. The façade has been repainted in its original colour which gives the building a unique appearance. In fact, from the Castle in the quarter of Alfama you can recognise the hostel for its façade colour and its position in the city.

About 3 minutes walking from the Hostel there is the most well known tourist attraction of the Barrio Alto which is the “Mirador de San Pedro de Alcántara”. It is not only the best view of the city but it is also a great place to have a drink at night while enjoying an unforgettable atmosphere.
