Liked: The rooms were so spacious, clean and comfortable, dinners were amazing (I ate here all three nights of my stay). The walking tour was fantastic (with Jose) the best walking tour I have done in my travels and I also loved the Sintra tour, Carlos is very passionate about Portugal! Thankyou Alfama Patio!

Liked: The part I enjoyed most was the fact that they had a dog. I missed my dog and it was comforting. Other than that the atmosphere is amazing and they have a porch with a view of the river and a hammock down below in a great yard. They serve dinner every night and the one I had was amazing. It is also right on the tram line. Some sort of night life event and day event every day, like going to the beach and going to a Fado performance

Disliked: .....nothing it was perfect, and Lisboa is Beautiful

Liked: Great great great place to stay. Wonderful place to meet people, couldnt be a better location, and clean (which is very important to me). A few things that might be important to other people: green friendly hostel, provides room fans (which helps with street/patio noise), hair dryer provided, good breakfast, very very helpful staff. I was all around very very happy with Alfama Patio!!

Disliked: street noise is at times loud at night due to party people and loud in the morning due to trolleys; patio noise can be loud if window is on patio, blond breakfast lady can be crabby (but she is the only crabby staff), small showers with no changing space

Liked: The hostel's atmosphere was amazing. It was exactly what I was looking for when I went to Lisbon, complete with a dog! I never wanted to leave.

Disliked: I wish they had given meat and cheese at breakfast for free.

Liked: This was a great hostel. It had plenty of character, the staff were great they have something organised for any day/night of the week. Breakfast and dinners are probably the best I've had at any hostel. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Liked: This is my Favourite hostel ever! The staff were really helpful and gave good advice on places to go things to see, the breakfast and dinner were great food that left you feeling full. Rooms were huge by hostel standards and location was great too.

Disliked: Nothing... closest thing to a negative was that the average age at this hostel is a little older than most Hostels, as I am slightly older than the average hostel goer this worked fine for me.

Liked: I was made to feel really welcome from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. Everyone was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure I saw the best of Lisbon, including hearing fado sung in a local bar.

Disliked: The bathroom was really tiny but functional. They did explain that because the hostel is in a conservation area they are restricted in the improvements they can make in order to keep in character.

Liked: Hmm...where do I begin? Lets just say in my 6 months of travelling around Europe and staying in about 15 hostels, I have never given a perfect rating. This place has everything you need and more but what makes it amazing is the atmosphere and the staff. This place could be a junkyard and Id still love it to bits. Sometimes Ive read reviews on hostels and tghen I get to the place and its fine but I dont know why people raved about it. Before I booked this one, it was the same situation, people raved and raved about it but I still thought, thats probably just their experience, doesnt mean I will love it but these reviews are legit. This place is not over rated and it exceeded all my expectations! You feel loved and welcomed to the max by the staff. They really take the time to just hang out and talk with you yet they are hard working and do their job well. This has an obvious positive impact on the guests too because I have never stayed at a hostel where everyone is so open and friendly. I made some great friends who I will remember forever. Everyone I met was also amazed by this hostel. Oh man, I miss it and Lisbon itself is just something special. Alfama is the oldest part of Lisbon so you are surrounded by character and culture to the max. I could go on and on....I will end with this that I booked for one week and decided the night before I left to cancel my next accomdation and stay another full week here. YOU HAVE TO STAY HERE! You will miss out if you dont. Seriously.

Disliked: The sinks in the main floor shower room are kind of difficult to wash your hands in because the faucet is so close to the bottom of the sink, haha, but seriously...if this is my only dislike, thats saying something.

Liked: It was amazing! We we overjoyed at the value for our money and homey feel of the hostel. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, rooms were bright (with a view of the water!), and the layout of the place is great. There is a hammock and a patio overlooking the sea. Highly recommended...don't hesitate to book!

Disliked: The showers are iffy on the hot water consistency and you have to push a button every 15 seconds to keep the water coming out - on the bright side this saves water :)

Liked: This place was amazing! Honestly, had such a blast. The staff were fantastic, never had a dull moment! Worth every penny, food was amazing, events were great, such a chill atmosphere, was the perfect place to stay in Lisbon. Definitely going back as soon as I can!!

Liked: All staff members from several places in the globe were very nice! The room upstairs with a window to the street and river was very sunny in the morning - easy to wake up well-rested. The patio upstairs with comfy chairs and tables and a nice view over the district and to the river was something superb. The dinners were amazing for the price and eating and sitting together on the heated patio with candles was a nice way to meet other travelers. The tour to Sintra and Cascais with the van was definitely worth going. Fado tour in Alfama is also very recommendable. The location of the hostel in the ancient Alfama makes it exciting to just have a walk on the narrow streets and the city center is within walk distance but also the historical tram line goes next to the hostel.

Disliked: Not much to dislike. Well, couple of times the water in shower wasn't really hot, but they have stickers asking you to tell the staff and they will fix it.

Liked: There was nothing not to like. Great kitchen facilities. Very helpful staff. The rooms had a lot of character. Good taste in music. Nice courtyard. But best of all was the cute dog!

Liked: The best hostel I have ever stayed at. It´s a wonderful location in Alfama with a beautiful view of the town and the water; easy to get to all the main attractions and the vintage Tram 28 rattles down the street right outside. It´s quiet and your neighbors are authentic Lisboans. The staff is SUPER nice and friendly and happy to help with all of your plans. They also make cheap dinners in the evening (I had the homemade pasta - delicious!), as well as offer movie nights or live music. Beds are quite comfy and the facility is very clean. This was by far my best hostelling experience and I am already planning to return to wonderful Portugal and the Alfama Patio Hostel.

Disliked: Seriously nothing.

Liked: Everything was fantastic. Stayed with 6 of my friends, and we loved the staff, the location, the coziness, and the cheap cerverja and vinho!

Disliked: The closest thing to a complaint: we wish you had better directions there! It's super easy to get to, once you know where you are going. Lisbon is just a confusing city generally.

Liked: Everything, the staff, the location, the atmosphere of the hostel as a whole was very warm and inviting. The rooms are laid out in a useable fashion, storage locker under the bed, bunk beds for real sized people not for kids, safe box for everyone. Clean, all over from linen to the laundry they did for us. The breakfast everyday of crepes, dinners every night for a very reasonable and fair price, and a fun bbq on saturday with great entertainment. So yes, everything. Thanks so much to everyone who made the stay so enjoyable.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere! Good localization, close to everything. Pancakes for breakfast (wow!) and if you are lucky you can get real Italian pasta for diner:)

Liked: A great place to meet other travellers and the staff were amazing! There was always something on at night and the breakfasts and dinners were awesome. The day trip to Sintra was definitely a highlight - had a great time!

Disliked: The hostel was so comfy it was hard to leave - too many hours spent chilling on the couches by the fireplace!

Liked: The hostel decor makes u feel like home and the staff are really nice, reasonably helpful although sometimes they provide info unclearly, u had to keep asking for detailed directions. However, they do what possibly they can to help.

Disliked: The location is really an issue. When I arrived, it was 7am in the morning. It is located in the Jewish area and people kept staring at me, some even tried to flirt with me or said something making me uncomfortable. Moreover, the way to the hostel is uphill in the pablo streets, very hard to carry the luggage around that area.
