Liked: Im Jan christensen from Denmark. I have travelled a lot, and been in many hostels,but Black and White beats them all. The atmosphere here is fantastic,warm,friendly, i actually felt like a member of a big family,it was amazing. If you have any problem the staff would do everything to help you. Another great thing is the breakfast,from 8.00 am to 11 am..fresh bread and fruits,just the best way to start a day..Black and white hostel is 5 min walk to centrum and if you need anything theres a store 100 m from the Hostel. I really recommend Black and white hostel..it was great! see you in 2012 you made my stay fantastic..;-) Jan (Denmark)

Liked: Cheap, friendly staff, good breakfast with fresh fruit (apples, bananas) and cooked eggs, good kitchen with lots of spices and free products.

Disliked: 14 person dorm was very noisy.

Liked: THE PEOPLE AT THE FRONT DESK ESPECIALLY ANNA WAS AWESOME, I HAD DIFFICULTIES WITH TICKET AND OFFICES IN LISBON, SHE REALLY HELPED ME A LOT. VERY FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE.

Disliked: IT WAS A LITTLE HARD TO FIND IN THE BEGINNING

Liked: Truly friendly staff (extremely accomodating and with useful information) and very chill atmosphere in the common room. Full, well-equipped kitchen. Nice free breakfast. Internet and wifi worked well. Very good price for value ($8.50 a night in 14 people dorm). And the hostel is not too big which makes it not too crowded in common areas and easy to get to know others.

Disliked: (bunk)beds were cheap quality and pretty noisy everytime you slighty moved (you still sleep pretty well). Lockers were cheap also and worked only with their key (no possibility to put a better lock of your own). Evrerything else was just great!

Liked: We liked atmosphere, decoration and location of hostel. Staff was really friendly and helpful, they were mixing with guests. Breakfast was excellent and very big.

Disliked: When you get in the building of the hostel it is almost impossible to find hostel's door, because there is only small sign above the bell beside the entrance. Luckily for us some neighbours helped us. There should be some big sing on the entrance.

Liked: Loved the free breakfast in the morning and the cool decor/furniture

Disliked: Breakfast was quickly picked over and not all that quickly restocked. Location was within walking distance of the city center, but Lisbon is a small city--a good many things are within walking distance of the city center and this hostel was a little far for my tastes.

Liked: Since the hostel is very small, people know each other quickly. It feels like home. The hostel is very clean. The design of the rooms is amazing.

Disliked: No proper place to put clothes after taking the shower.

Liked: cheap!!

Disliked: There were no air conditioners, so I had to keep windows opening, but outside, especially traffic, was heavy and noisy.

Liked: really surprised to find a clean and quirky place considering the price we paid. laid back atmosphere (we even had a hostel dinner on our last night!). shop 2 minutes away.

Disliked: slightly out of the centre, but walkable (if not metro/buses readily available). otherwise, had a great time and ended up feeling right at home!

Liked: Great atmosphere, very artistic, staff were very cool, friendly and helpful. Free breakfast in the morning was great! Environmentally friendly

Disliked: I really liked this place, but unfortunately my bed had bed bugs and I was bitten all night. No other beds in my dorm had them though, I was just unlucky.

Liked: The staff was very friendly, always ready to help. The atmosphere is very relax and there's a really nice living room where everybody can hang out.

Disliked: Well it's a little bit hard to find. Not the location but the sign of the Black and White Hostel. Maybe you could announce it outside the building.

Liked: Free wifi.

Disliked: The bathrooms were gross, there is no faucet in the girls bathroom, the kitchen is gross, overall the place was dirty and would not stay there again.

Liked: The rooms were sweet and there are paintings everywhere that are really cool. The staff was very helpful and cool, they all seemed to be great people. You get more than you paid for. When I go back to Portugal I will be staying at Black and White and I suggest you do to.

Liked: I loved the location, so close to everything. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Showers were amazing compared to past hostels we've stayed in. Breakfast was great and I really enjoyed the stay.

Disliked: The only thing was the lack of washing facilities, if they invested in a washer and dryer it would be Heaven! Other then that nothing negative!

Liked: Good location and totally worthy staying there. We had paid to stay in a 14-bed room, but there was a problem with our booking and it was full, so we were stayed in a 4-bed room without paying anything :)

Liked: I liked that everybody at the hostel was very friendly, and people gathered at nights just to chat and meet others staying there as well.

Disliked: It was a little difficult to find, on the outside the only thing indicating the hostel inside is a tiny piece of paper that says "Black & White"
