Liked: Incredible staff, the evening events are wonderful. The rooms are very well furnished and the shared restrooms are also very good. The common rooms are amazing though, with computers, a TV set with free movies to rent, a place to sit, free WiFi and a full fledged kitchen which you have full access to.Also, I would again like to say how amazing the staff were. The owners are wonderful people, and the entire staff was amazingly helpful with everything from hotel things to recommendations as to were to go, tailored specifically to what you like.All in all, an amazing place, and it made my stay in Lisbon a hundred times better.

Disliked: The only thing that I could say to have disliked, is that in one of my showers, the hot water was a bit sketchy. Mind you, this was for one evening out of the five days I was here. Rest of the time there was no problem at all.

Liked: While searching for hostels, I couldn't believe the reviews Traveller's House was getting. How could it POSSIBLY be so good? Well, let me assure you, this IS the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The atmosphere was so warm: The moment I arrived I was personally greeted at reception and given a tour. Joao, as well as the rest of the staff, was SOOOO friendly, knowledgeable, outgoing and cool.Also, I am not one for organized activities and tours, but I highly recommend the home-cooked meals they perform in the hostel. Really good and cheaper than going out!

Liked: Great comfortable bunks, secure storage and individual safes under the bed. Good breakfast and helpful staff. Honesty system for drinks.

Disliked: Bit dark and busy in dining area at breakfast time. Walls very thin between our room and next door dorm (had four very noisy guys going in and out at 4am!)

Liked: Very cool common area where everyone is together. dining room, kitchen, internet room, movie room and sitting area all linked, therefore feels really homely and comfortable. Rooms were great and staff were heaps helpful.

Disliked: Heaps of older people staying here, so hard to meet like minded youngens. activities also cater for the older people, rather than younger. very well rated on hostel bookers, but would far rather stay at alfama patio... alfama has a way better atmosphere.

Liked: This was the best hostel i stayed at in an around the world trip over 9 months. The staff are amazingly friendly, they provide an activity every night with food and or alcohol for only 6 Euro's and will help\direct you anywhere you want to go. The common area is amazing for meeting new people, and the location is the best available. They even have free breakfast where the staff cook you eggs on toast! Amazing hostel!

Disliked: I really cant find anything to nitpick with this hostel.

Liked: It was clean and had good location

Disliked: The website suggests a 98% fun rating but this was not the case for my visit. On a Saturday night the common room was complied of people reading books, playing chess and skyping home...not a hostel for the young and restless. We also encountered problems with the hot water in the shower...not good for a place of this price.

Liked: The interior decoration is definitely top notch. Nitty gritty details were well taken care of and friendly staff. Not to mention that there seemed to be a social event planned every night for its guests to mingle!

Disliked: The basins in the bathrooms should be be bigger.

Liked: The location is awesome! 3mint walk from the intersting spot of placa do commersio, 2 station from train station S A, the facility within the property is well decorated! Make traveler really feel relax and comfortable as home! Living room always place some easy-move sofa, with music as well, quite a place to stay, and the free computer just on the next corner of the living room, with three I pod destop, really cool! The bed on the room is bigger than standard bed, the toilet in each floor is also bigger than usual one, really a nice play to stay! And the amosphere in the hostel is really cheerful with helpful staff and various activities the hostel run

Liked: AMAZING hostel - best I have ever stayed in. Staff we so helpful, the hostel is beautiful. Fantastic location, great breakfast (scrambled eggs on toast, muesli, cornflakes, herbal teas, nice coffee...) Highly recommended

Disliked: Only downside was the noise from the street coming through our open window - was very loud and light (need darker curtains)

Liked: BEST hostel that I've ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Everything about it was brilliant. Superb location, right in the historic city centre, equi-distant from 2 main squares. The facilities and cleanliness were amazing. They had iMacs in the internet room !!! That tells a lot about the quality. The staff would go out of the way to ensure that all residents have a nice time. They were very helpful with tips and suggestions. They also organize a night tour and a day tour from the hostel. Made use of the day tour and it was great fun. Every night, there is a dinner party that u can be part of. I did the Piri Piri Chicken party night. 6.50 euros for unlimited piri piri chicken and Sangria wine. Couldn't ask for more ! The rooms and beds were excellent, These guys really know how to run the business.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing at all. These guys know how to run the business.

Liked: Its not number one by accident... The staf are awesome and really do their job so well... its what makes the difference. I have stayed in the other top hostels and what sets this one apart is the little things such as staff and a homely feel. Cant ask for anything more... except maybe a cheese grater!!! Which we did and within half an hour they had one for us!!! haha perfect!!!

Liked: The best hostel I have stayed in to date!!Friendly staff helped me find out what bus to catch at 04:30, and also pointed us to a nice place for dinner.Big comfy beds, with fans in room to keep cool on hot nights.Loved the honor system used for everything and the groovy common area.

Liked: the staff was incredibly helpful and just wanted to ensure that everyone there had the best time possible. the day tour to sintra was excellent, the atmosphere is fun and young, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean and overall it was one of the best, if not the best, hostel i've ever had the pleasure of staying at!
