Liked: This hostel definitely lives up to it´s party reputation. Great place to meet likeminded young travelers before getting amongst the nightlife. Mama was a fantastic host, just felt like you were at home and the breakfast crepes were the icing on the cake!

Disliked: Lack of air-con in our room

Liked: This place is awesome.Clean, close to everything, excellent staff, Mama's crepes. Perfection in a hostel.Awesome resteraunt across the road with epic burger that are cheap.Always something happening here, but easy to escape from it if you want to chill.

Liked: How clean the hostel was, the big open areas to hang out and meet people, and the lovely owners.

Disliked: The fact that we didn't have a key to our room and had to rely on the desk staff all the time to open it for us.

Liked: It lives up to its reputation, a party hostel in the purest sense of the word. Mama's crepes are really THAT good. Excellent selection of movies and TV shows on the computer plugged to the big screen. An excellent place to meet new people. Common room is one of the best I have ever seen. All round an excellent hostel. Gladly recommend this to all those looking for a good time in Lagos.

Disliked: Lockers weren't secured for free (have to provide own lock), not a big complaint though. Could have afforded to be slightly less, however it was end of season so this could be expected.

Liked: Be prepared to party! No need for introductions at this place, everyone is very social. You can get double beds if you ask for them! Crepes for breakfast are awesome.

Liked: It was a very social hostel, easy to meet people.

Disliked: They seemed very un-organised. I booked for me and 2 friends (party of 3). Another friend decided the day after i booked that sheºd like to stay too. She rung and they said theyºd keep a bed for her. When we arrived my booking recieved 2 double beds (not 3 singles) this was never suggested on the website and my friends booking didnºt exsist. They said they didnºt take phone bookings and charged her 22euro to sleep on the couch. Un organised

Liked: Muma and Nick were amazing, some of the best hostel staff I've come across. Lounge area was great as were all the movies on offer. The morning crepes were to die for.

Liked: The rising cock was okay not as amazing as I read thou. I stayed two nights and it wasnt a crazy party or anything like that. The common room closes at 12am. The location is good and the rooms are clean but 25£ is way too much to pay for this place.

Liked: it was very fun, party place like it says on website. NOT CLEAN AT ALL!! stayed in a 10-person room and could not even see the floor and the bathroom was not cleaned during my entire stay and smelled horrible.

Liked: The staff was incredible in recommending beaches, night life destinations, and general directions as well as providing great accommodations during my stay. The 'Mama' of the house makes the best crepes every morning and takes care of every resident in a way that only a good mother knows how. The owner of the house has a great sense about what events to plan and makes sure that the hostel is enjoyable 24/7. I have met so many people here that fall in love with the hostel and Lagos so much that they cannot leave; in fact 3 girls this morning were on a bus to go back home, and told the bus driver to stop and they came back! Lagos is paradise and the Rising Cock is the best hostel to experience everything this area has to offer

Liked: LOVED this hostel. In terms of atmosphere and meeting other travellers this hostel is the best compared to anywhere else ive stayed as there is a big common room where everyone hangs out and watches movies and drinks and then all goes out together so its got a great party vibe, and if you go to Lagos im guessing its to party! Great staff & yummy crepes for breakfast. Only downside was how small the room was and it was quite dark but not enough to stop me from going back!

Liked: Very much a party hostel, where there is plenty of opportunities to meet with many other travellers. Missed out on the booze cruise, but the beach party was unreal! Highly recommend this place if you go to Lagos!
