the best thing about this hostel is probably its staff. very open, very friendly and always caring about the travellers.

A very warm welcome from generous and helpful staff who had an excellent understanding of the needs of travellers. Services ranged from bike hire, bar, shared kitchen and lounge space and even travel advice when i needed to find my way from Fig da Foz to Faro. Another great idea was the 'give and take' library which provided some interesting new reading material. Overall, an excellent place to stay as a solo traveller.

Jack and Kate were amazing, friendly, helpful and just generally the best hostel i have stayed at during the last few weeks. I would recomend this to anyone. I only booked a single night, and asked to stay a second, with no beds available, they found a blow up mattress so i could stay, of course at a reduced rate. Brilliant fun, great people and the beaches are amazing.

this is the best hostel to stay in. the atmosphere is a home from home and the people running it are sooo friendly. the beds are really comfy and the showers really good. great pizza nights and bar crawl - you cannot go to portugal without staying at the painsthop - it rocks!

Exellent hostel. Friendly and helpfull staff -all the time. Very good beds to sleep. You just have to go there and feel the ATHMOSPHERE. Free internet, tv room and good kitchen++++.Dont forget the BAR. Choose this place.

the town of figueira da fos is so pretty and the location of the hostel is perfect! as soon as we arrived we felt so at home, the staff were brilliant. it is clean, friendly and has such a great atmosphere. it is definately, without a doubt one of the best hostels we've stayed in! loved it.

The atmosphere is awesome!.. the staff are great and friendly and even if you don't feel like going to the beach you can easily stay in the hostel and have fun there. Figueira is a great place and the experience it's even better when you stay in such good place like this one.

The friendliness of the people who run it was evident from the moment we walked through the door. I can't think of a better place to relax for the weekend, it was like having a second home in a much sunnier climate! Perfection.

The people who own it are great; really friendly, helpful and hospitable. The Hostel is really, really lovely - great facilities, clean and has a great atmosphere. I was very impressed by the bedrooms, kitchen and facilities such as the internet access.
