Liked: The friendliness of the people who run it was evident from the moment we walked through the door. I can't think of a better place to relax for the weekend, it was like having a second home in a much sunnier climate! Perfection.

Liked: The people who own it are great; really friendly, helpful and hospitable. The Hostel is really, really lovely - great facilities, clean and has a great atmosphere. I was very impressed by the bedrooms, kitchen and facilities such as the internet access.

Liked: I liked the atmoshphere and the facilities offered. Most of all I enjoyed talking to the owners that were so helpful in pointing out good places to surf and eat... the two importnat activities in life.

Liked: Hostel is owned by a young family, who were incredibly welcoming and went far out of their way to help us (in particular to find surf beaches). There is a very relaxed and familiar atmosphere in the hostel- a stocked beer fridge is run on a trust basis, with guests just helping themselves and recording what they take, the internet time is managed the same way. This was one of the best hostel experiences I have ever had and I would recommend the paintshop hostel to anyone staying in Fig. da Foz.

Liked: Only thing that`s missing is free showergel in the bathroom... If youre going to Portugal, forget algarve and head to Figueira da Foz. The hostel is great, all the stuff is new and the place is very relaxing. I have to come back and check the bar when it`s finished.

Liked: Ben is super cool, the vibe is solid, its got a fresh newness to it that is refreshing for sure, full on kitchen, DVD collection, bookswap, people chilling and being social, nice clean bathrooms, I might even say its the best hostel I´ve ever stayed in. Stay there! It is a steal for what you get. And Ben is really chill.

Liked: I liked everything except the fact, that the room doesn't have a lock. But the english guy has the safe, so for the valuables there is no problem. This hostel is actually like a big flat with pool, TV with huge DVD selection, kitchen for use with free breakfast (like cereals). Very, very nice, especially for that price. I recommend it to everybody.

Liked: The Paintshop has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and the staff have bags of experience. This hostel is clean and really well looked after; just a brilliant place to stay! I definitely recommend it to anyone travelling through Portugal : )

Liked: Very clean, great atmosphere, close to the sea and right in the heart of the old town surrounded by cafes and bars. The owners are experienced backpackers themselves and it showed in the right way. Recommended for good value, great surf, massive beaches and good weather. A1++++++
