Liked: It's a beautiful sixteenth century house with lots of character, close to all the attractions of Evora. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and even gave me guidance on my Portuguese. It's also very cheap.

Disliked: There was no air conditioning or fan in our room, which was warm at night. The property is very close to the cathedral, and even though I wore ear plugs and had the windows closed, the powerful bells of the cathedral (which chime every hour, all night) still sounded very loud. For these reasons, I slept very little the first night. This would put me off staying there again.

Liked: it was a wonderful place! the best we stayed so far in Portugal (and we´ve seen quite a lot!)

Disliked: there was one thing we disliked: the shower. the water was overfloating, it was difficult to figure out how it worked. although it looked very posh, it was rather inconvenient. if they could improve this, the place is PERFECT!

Liked: This is a lovely place to stay, lots of character and chilled out. Our room was great, beautiful view and had a sink which was a bonus. The staff were very accommodating, if you need extra pillows or towels they will happily oblige. Bathrooms were really clean, as was the whole place. Breakfast served in a charming room, and there's also a terrace. Would definitely recommend Policarpo, such good value and in a great location. Big supermarket nearby juast outside the city walls, and the main square is a 5 minute walk. Evora is a magical place, and this is a brilliant place from which to experience it.

Disliked: No dislikes, only one comment - there is a fridge which guests can store food in, but it's only accessible via a member of staff. Would be useful if you could get your own food out when you want without having to ask each time.

Liked: Very friendly staff (with excellent tips for places to have meals), great location and pleasant place. Great price-quality relation.

Disliked: The bathroom (hot water is unstable and very small shower)

Liked: It is an old building with considerable character and was conveniently located.

Disliked: It was difficult to maneuver all the steps because my husband just had knee surgery. But staff gave us the easiest available room with this in mind.

Liked: The room was what you would expect for the price, but the friendly staff, the amazing shower, secure free parking, and the location went far and beyond what one would expect from such a cheap stay. All the staff we encountered were super willing to help us out, spoke perfect English and were extremely friendly. Would definately stay again!

Disliked: No complaints at all, just heads up that when using gps/map and going to the street address, the street on which they are located becomes very narrow. We just made it through in a very small car.

Liked: The building itself was fantastic and the rooms were well decorated. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. It is much more of a pension than a hostel. I would love to go back!

Liked: The building was so beautiful, and our room was lovely. We had a shared bath, but it was nice that we still had our own mirror and sink in our room, as well as a chair, small table to use for dining, luggage rack, and closet. The room where breakfast is served is beautiful! Give yourself plenty of time to eat leisurely and enjoy the sun on the balcony.

Disliked: The only downside is not even really about the property. It would be great if this Pensao were in a city like Lisbon! My husband and I both enjoyed the other cities we have visited in Portugal better.

Liked: I wasn't expecting much after reading the other reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel was good value for money and the rooms weren't nearly as small as I was expecting.
