Liked: The breakfast was record setting! Such a variety, fresh orange juice every morning, a variety of marmelades, good bread even for german standards, ...

Disliked: The place is very smelly. We couldn't get it off our clothes even not after several days. Must be due to the paint which was used to colour the door frames and other furniture - disgusting!

Liked: This was our first trip to Coimbra and we were pleased with the very warm welcome from Anja and all the helpful sight seeing advice she provided us with. Casa Pombal was very atmospheric and our view from the top floor was spectacular. We enjoyed our meal out then some Coimbra Fado and the best bit was coming back to our room with the night views of Coimbra. The morning breakfast had a range of choices and was very good. It also gave us the chance to chat with other travellers and share our experience of Portugal with each other. I will recommend it to others and will certainly go again.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and gave us loads of advice about what to see and do in Coimbra.

Disliked: The guesthouse is located on top of the main hill in Coimbra, and the walk up there can be quite difficult. However, it's in the heart of the town so it's hard to imagine a better location.

Liked: It is in the historical center. Anja gave us a lot of information: what to visit, where to find everything, opening hours...

Disliked: It is in the historical center what means on top of the hill. If you travel with a huge backpack and train/bus: take a taxi to the top or walk to the elevator. If you come by car: during the day it is very hard to find a parking place.

Liked: Excellent place to stay. It's located in the old part of the town (tiny alleys) close to the university. Very nice location. Reminds me very much of the B&Bs described in Nelson DeMille's novels ;) Our room was very nice. It's rather small and dark (windows closed to keep the sunlight/heat out) but it's nicely decorated, very clean and well equipped. Same The guesthouse is very well managed. The manager was so nice to give me a medicine for my major hangover when we arrived. The breakfast is excellent (one of the best I've ever had). They have so many delicious things and even fresh natural orange juice. It's worth staying there just to try it ;)

Liked: the dutch owners gave us a lot of good recommendations for restaurants and places to see...which have quite useful for us the offered a really good breakfast it is located in the university district of coimbra, which gave really nice views over the city

Liked: There was a lot of choices at breakfast, including protein like eggs, yogurt, cheese, and meat. The owner was very helpful, and check-in and check-out was efficient. Our room was cheery and cosy.

Disliked: It was a little on the pricey side.

Liked: Everything! It was the perfect setting for our trip to Coimbra.The Hotel was clean and Tidy, and the staff were Amazing, they sat with us for over5 minutes telling us the places to visit, eat and we even scored a free fado concert. The breakfast was great, the heaters worked fantastically and our room was big enough, on eof the west we've ever stayed in.

Liked: The extremley helpful and knowledgable staff with perfect English, which made it easy to communicate. We were given a full insight of the city and its historical bckground. We even got to see a free Fado concert! The room was clean aand comfy. Perfect breakfast. Nothing to complain about!

Liked: The hosts are fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us including organising and booking accommodation for our next stop in Portugal. I couldn't ask for more! Would definitely stay again, and recommend them to everyone!

Liked: The Dutch owner was very friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast. Rooms are decorated very nicely. Terrace is good. Excellent location close to University and cathedral which are the main sites. If you don't like walking, catch a taxi to the guesthouse. Some rooms have great views but ours didn't.
