Liked: The property was in a good location, 10 minutes walk from the main station and 5 minutes walk from the centre of Gdansk Old Town. Security was very good and the hostel was generally clean throughout, although the showers had a bit of mildew on the walls and ceiling, but overall not too bad. My only complaints are: a) that smoking was permitted in the lounge, which is not only a fire hazard but meant the smell wafted up to the first floor and under our door. Not very pleasant as non-smokers.b) The staff, although reasonably helpful if asked about anything, could have been a little less surly, as I'm sure smiling isn't illegal in Poland. At least I felt I was getting the authentic Eastern Bloc experience I suppose.

Liked: the best things to say about that hostel is, that the staff is really friendly, that its central and the free breakfast is okay. the 10bed-dorm i stayed in couldn't be locked, cause the doorlock was broken. room was clean, but looked dodgy though. the showers were really horrible. one shower had the paint coming off the ceiling, the shower head was half broken, the other shower had mould on the ceiling. none of them had any hooks or anything to put your towel and things. definetely not a hostel i would recommend!

Liked: The hostel have very pleasant location, closest to the river, near to the old city and only 15 minutes walking to the train station. Correct breakfast and very helpful staff.

Liked: My girlfriend and I are from France. We booked a double room at the Przy Targu Rybnym hostel in August 26th 2009. When we arrived to get the room, the manager sounded friendly and told us “Have a cup of tea or coffee, I take care of everything”. 5 minutes later, nothing happened. So I asked if there was any problem with our booking.Embarrassed, the manager told that the room was still busy because the current tenants wanted to extent their stay.The manager would not give us the room and made no commercial gesture, even if some other rooms (maybe more expensive) seemed to be available. After 30 minutes of pointless negotiation we left the hostel and went to the next tourist home. After calling the same hostel twice, the tourist home got a double room for us. We finally entered our room 4 hours late…The head of the hostel disappeared during our whole stay...I won't recommend this property to other travelers.

Liked: The place had a lot of character and a decent breakfast as well. The rooms were nice enough but the bathrooms with a bit run down. Only one computer was a bit of a problem when needing to check something quickly. Can get busy - many were being turned away when we arrived.

Liked: It wasn't quite tourist season therefore the place was pretty empty.... still, very safe, charming. Good location in the Main Town, pretty quick walk to train station.

Liked: The hostel provides everything you need for a short trip to Gdansk. The rooms were newly decorated. The bathroom was very clean. There are two shower rooms and toilets on the floor so there is never a queue. Breakfast is basic however it it provides everything that you have a good start to the morning. All in all a good and clean hostel very centrally located.

Liked: It is a excellent hostel, in a really good location. This is the second time i have been here and i still love it. Editha and Monica (the receptionists) are reallg nice in both sences!!Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Liked: The location could not be better, if you prefer the old town with it's bars and restaurants. Also the staff was were helpful and recommended good places to visit (they spoke english). The owner of the hostel came one night to lounge area with a bottle of vodka and began to serve snaps for guests! He told that the hostel is also known as vodka hostel :)
