Liked: The rooftop sunroom is a nice communal space. You can make a cup of tea here anytime. The central courtyard is a lovely change from dark, closed in hostels! Clean shared bathrooms and solar hotwater.

Liked: Although the staff didnt speak English, the old guy that ran the place, spoke very clear Spanish so we could understand. He was super helpful and friendly. The hostel was clean and comfortable. Dont bother with the breakfast though.

Disliked: The breakfast was poor and the kitchen was the tiniest thing I have ever seen.

Liked: the indoor garden was quite beautiful and well maintained

Disliked: This hostel does not speak English as stated. My luggage was lost and they could not help me at all! They are not familiar with the needs of travelers and treated me as an inconvience. They provided no information on who was to pick me up form the airport, no name on the collective bus and when I HAD TO RETURN TO PICK UP MY LOST LUGGAGE THE COLLECTIVE DID NOT WAIT FOR ME. I was stranded at Julicia airport. In addition the bathrooms smell horrible.

Liked: We liked the flowery internal courtyard and safe atmosphere. There was internet access and we were able to leave our bags there during our homestay visit. The showers were hot and the staff were generally very helpful. It was excellent value for money and I would definitely recommend it to other backpackers.

Disliked: It was 10 minutes away from the centre/ maybe a bit too far to be able to pop out quickly. Also the breakfast wasnt very generous/ we were given dry cake and yoghurt/ an odd combination...

Liked: Clean, good sized rooms and a nice main garden. The breakfast was one of the best we·ve had & is served by a very nice lady. The staff is incredibly friendly & helpful. Location is not very central although only a few blocks away from the main attractions.

Liked: The room was a good size for the price. The wifi was "hit and miss". They really need a kitchen that the guests can use- all they would really need is a fridge and to keep the kitchen open all day...

Liked: The hostel staff were really helpful in booking us on a last minute tour for the morning and advising about onward buses.The place feels very clean even though the bathroom drain smells a little, it is actually clean. The lady who gave us breakfast was really cheerful and friendly.

Liked: the front desk were very helpful, we had booked a pickup from the bus station (please note ignore what it says on confirmation you can walk it easy or get one of the guys on bikes it is much cheaper), and our very disorganized tour came to collect us too! He did not mind and did not charge us for wasting his time. They also let us leave our bags free of charge when we returned from our over night Titikaka trip, for the afternoon while we waited for our bus.The only down side is they are very sparing on toilet paper and we had to keep asking, and the bathrooms stank from the drains.

Liked: El Manzano is a great budget hostel! The rooms are simple, but clean, with many services to their customers, including a free breakfast in bed option. Although there are a few rules that are not posted online (no drinking in rooms, no drugs, must tell front desk prior to 9 am if you want to keep the room an extra night, etc.), the staff are very friendly, helpful, and a delicious breakfast is included.
