Liked: Decent basic room by small terrace. Wonderful views from terrace surrounded by the mountains. Breakfast was basic but ok. Lots of cats!

Disliked: Could be difficult to find if you take the wrong path off of the main Square, but I didn´t have any problems. No wi-fi.

Liked: The surrounding mountains and landscapes are amaizing.

Disliked: The lack of cooperation on behalf of the owner. It was not possible to use the kitchen to cook, the tv set, the fridge, and the matresses were too thin. It wasn't possible to have breakfast either because the owner or assistant wouldn't want to wake up early(dixit).

Liked: Very cute and friendly decor, close to the mountains with a beautiful view, friendly domestic cats in the hostel, love the decorative painting on the walls! And the staff is very friendly and helpful. Also, very quiet.

Disliked: Close to another hostel that doesn't offer an indoor area for its visitors to socialize, but that is not the fault of chaska wasi, which ensures that its visitor have a clean, friendly and comfortable place to visit.

Liked: location was great, they also let us in at 1am, which was great

Disliked: everything was fine, except i booked a double, and we were placed in a triple with single beds. Also the price included towel, but the lady said that it didnt include towels, but gave my boyfriend and I a small towel to share.. This was annoying as it was cold, and we have just done Machu Pichu, and was looking forward to a nice shower with a normal sized towel each!

Liked: The place is a few blocks away from the main Plaza because of that it wasnt noisy. Katy (The cat Lady) is really nice and helpful. The views from the roof terrace are great as you can see the ruins on both sides of the valley. Ollayntaytambo is a good base to see Machu Picchu. Its a great place to recover from altitude sickness, Oh and Katy is a nice person. You dont get harrased by street vendors in Ollayntaytambo.

Disliked: Water pressure can sometimes affect showers but nothing too drastic to stop you enjoying the place.

Liked: It was cheap and located close to the Ollantaytambo main square

Disliked: It was not clean enough...even for a hostel. I realize I was paying less than 10 usd per night, but I much rather would have paid double and had a cleaner place.

Liked: Realy nica cheap place to stay...i stood just one night and it was fairly nice, couldnt meet many othar costumers as it was not on the summer.

Disliked: The bathroom could be more well equiped and the rooms with more plugs

Liked: Cheap, good location

Disliked: You pay for what u get, very little. First the owner said the breakfast was included in our price room, but when paying (after breakfast, of course) she said that she had to keep the 10%deposit to cover our breakfast (which was lousy,btw,and we had to wait 20min for someone to wake up and make it). But all in all it's cheap, so if you're not looking for anything special it's ok.

Liked: the owner kept my bags there while I went to Agua Calientes

Disliked: I arrived 10pm, greeted by a lady quite annoyed at my late arrival. She showed me to my room while telling me that everyone in the room was already asleep. I said, thats no problem, I will be quiet. I dropped my bags and wanted to go for something to eat, she looked at her watch and told me to hurry as everything closed early. That was the only english she spoke to me... the rest was in Spanish eventhough she could clearly see I didnt understand! It wasnt untill the next evening I heard her fluently speaking English to other guests! I was not showed around the hostel and went to bed that night in a completely dark hostel with no idea where even the toilet was!! I had to wait till the morning! No toilet paper in the upstairs toilet aparently because the pipes get blocked so frequenty, she refuses to leave paper! Shower was cold. Just soooo bad!

Liked: Lovely building full of character, the staff were helpful when approached.

Disliked: A little difficult to find - in a pedestrian area off the main square, so you can't take a taxi directly there.

Liked: Property was average and basic and was sufficient for a one night stay. Would have looked elsewhere had we been staying for more than 1 night.

Disliked: Rooms were pretty cold but in a 4 bed dorm we were the only two ppl so we took the blankets off the other beds which enabled us to get a good nights sleep. One of the showers was broken and the water was ice cold. We also paid our 10% deposit and the next morning were told when we poured our tea at breakfast that the 10% was no longer taken into consideration as we were taking the hostel breakfast. So we paid in full and they also got our 10% for a cup of tea and a piece of bread. As we were leaving two other backpackers were complaining about the showers being cold at reception and once they had left the woman on reception complained about how they had checked in at 1am and woken her up even though the hostel website promises there is no curfew.

Liked: As our train was delayed we did not arrive until 4am and it was not a problem for them. Staff very friendly and helpful and room was nice and clean. Good breakfast as well.My only complaint is that we were asked to pay the full price of the room. I explained that we had already paid 10% to Hostelbokers as commission for the booking. The manager said that breakfast was not included for bookings through yourselves which is clearly not the case. She said she normally charges 6 sols each but would take 5 sols for both of us (i.e. the same as the deposit that we paid you) instead. This is wrong so maybe you should make it clear to them that travellers that book through you only pay the balance. The manager did not undrestand that she should have to reduce the room price for the amount of commission (deposit) that is paid to you!!

Liked: The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful... and even helped me get back some money from a dishonest store clerk down the street...the electric shower looks unsafe, but I did not use it, and the beds are a bit on the uncomfortable side (wood frame with thin mattress and cardboard padding) but the value for the money and the friendliness of the staff, plus the amazing rooftop view all made for a pleasant stay for those looking for the most basic of commodities.

Liked: Great place to stay in ´Tambo...right around the corner from the main square, easy to get to train, very friendly and helpful owner/manager...no hesitation in reccommending to everybody!

Liked: The village is a must see & it´s nice to stay in such an authentic building. Remember in cold season, it´s really cold at night and these properties do not have heating! Bring warm things.
