Liked: Our stay on this occassion was overnight, but we were treated very very well by all staff and certainly expect to stay with Las Fresas on our next visit to Lima expected to be in about a month's time. I gave very high ratings for eveything, but did not have enough time to completely evaluate atmosphere and character as that also requires more time to include the immediate neighborhood and how the other tenents interact. It still got a 4 out of 5 on that and 5 out of 5 on all other categories.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: first of all, people in las fresas , they are so generous and kind. I arrived there at the midnight of christmas eve. but they are pleased to pick me up from the airport and waited for us to take a shot(yellow fever shot is available in lim airport). And they suggest free breads and cocoa tea since it was christmas. Especially the father of owner, even though he cant speak english, he was always smiling and be nice to us. I felt like visiting my cousin or sth. if you are looking for neat and kind hostel, this is the place.
Disliked: the facilities are little bit old .you can hear toothbrushing by the person who stays in the next room. but i think you cant expect too much in this resonable price

Liked: This is a family owned guesthouse with such a warm father and son team of hoteliers. They were unbelievably kind, and provided me with personalized service including a big bottle of water upon arrival, tips about how to visit a museum, and generally were interested in me as a person. I had such a pleasant experience staying with them in their home.
Disliked: I found the breakfast to be a bit lacking. There could be some more recreational options e.g. a flatscreen tv or games or a bar, but this was not an issue for me. Generally it was fantastic.

Liked: This hostal is perfect if you need a place to stay close to the airport. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were greeted at the airport and taken straight to our hostal. It is not in the best neighborhood but very close to the airport and the staff makes sure that you feel safe while you are there. We were 4 American girls and we felt very safe. We were greeted with fresh water and Victor stayed up and chatted with us. He also made sure we had everything we needed before going to bed. They arranged for us to go back to the airport very early the next morning. Everything went smoothly. For a quaint hostal near the airport you can't ask for more!
Disliked: It wasn't the best neighborhood. It is good for an overnight stay near the airport but not for a longer stay.

Liked: Super close to the airport so it's ideal if you're only spending a night in Lima while waiting for your flight to somewhere else. The beds are pretty comfy and they give you a towel, soap, and tp. I booked my stay the day before and was able to arrange an airport pickup very quickly- the staff were very responsive.
Disliked: There was a bit of miscommunication with our driver about where to meet in the airport so I had to wait around a bit before going to the hostel, but the owner was there to meet me when I came out of baggage claim and waited with me for the driver. The rooms were pretty clean except that there was some mold underneath the bunk beds in the dorm room I slept in, and since I'm allergic to mold I had a hard time getting to sleep. The water was also only lukewarm at best, but since it wasn't too cold in Lima this time of year it wasn't a big deal.

Liked: Staff were very friendly and I received better hospitality here over the one night than I have in some places for a month! The hostel is as described: clean, good location for the airport and it is good value. The staff were more than helpful and were also so kind to me. Was also a great choice for me as a solo traveler with very limited Spanish. I would definitely go back!
Disliked: I had no problems at all.

Liked: LIke other pros for this property, it was close to the airport which made it a good place to stay as we were leaving early the next morning. The price was very cheap. The hostal served breakfast which was reasonably priced (10 PEN) and set up transport to and from the airport (25 PEN, one way)
Disliked: Like other cons, it was close to the airport and not a safe place to walk around after dark.

Liked: The owner was very friendly and informative. The room was clean. They arranged an airport pickup for us. The location is close to the airport so it was great for a short resting point.
Disliked: If you were looking to stay for more than a night, you might find there is not a great deal to do in the area. There was a bit of road noise, but it ceased before too late into the night.

Liked: The staff was amazing! I can't state this enough -- we've travelled all over the world and have rarely met with this much hospitality and help from the staff at a hostel or hotel. The location was conveniently close to the airport and an extremely easy and cheap ride on the city bus into the center. We loved this hostel and the people who work there!

Liked: Hostal Las Fresas was the perfect place to stay for a stopover in Lima (flew in late, flew out again early). They arranged a taxi to pick me up and drop me off, which made me feel very safe and taken care of (I'm a woman travelling alone). Victor was incredibly friendly and sat down to have a chat, and gave me some water, for a good 30 mins despite the late hour. Seemed genuinely interested in talking to me and provided some lovely tips on what to eat and see in Lima. And they are not kidding about how close they are to the airport...less than 5 minutes if you're travelling very late or very early (i.e., no traffic). Also, the price is exceptional, and the place was really clean and even had a couple towels. Astounding place and service really for the price.
Disliked: The neighbourhood is not good. But if you don't plan on actually going outside, or are fine with taking a cab to the front door, then it's great. I had good wifi reception, but I think I had one of the few rooms that did...otherwise you need to be in the common area. BUT when Victor knew I wanted to check in at home online, he put me in the room with good wifi signal. Super nice.

Liked: A very nice place to stay, good value for money. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff were of top mark (they also speak English). Very helpful with information about how to get around in Lima, food etc. They even lended me a laptop to use, the WiFi worked perfectly. Relatively close to the airport, so a perfect place to stay if you are travelling to other places in Peru or beyond.

Liked: A clean, safe hostel that is close enough to the airport to be really convinent, but not too close to have the airport smell (The Lima airport smells pretty rough). Therefore perfect for spending the night in Lima if you have a flight in the morning. During the day I enjoyed walking around the area and never felt unsafe. The best part is the very helpfull and friendly staff. My plane arrived at 11pm, however after dealing with my lost luggage issues I never made it into the general airport area until 1am. They were still there waiting for me with the airport pick up I ordered. I was very impressed with this!
Disliked: Not the best location with respect to the tourist sites in Lima. About a 40-50 soles taxi ride to the touristy areas of Lima

Liked: I can feel like this place is a guesthouse, They provide us with very warm welcome. If its your first time here in Lima, then they can manage you with full details. Location is really close to the airport, only 5 minutes drive by the hostel. The room are clean and everything else is fine. you will not regret to stay at this hostel.
Disliked: the location is close to the hotel, but you are not supposed to find the hotel at your own, sine the hostel is located in a complicated residential area. Thus, Pick-up service by the hostel is recommended for this hostel. Anyway, the pick-up service charge is just fine compared to other hostels.
