Liked: Lovely big rooms, breakfast bit nicer than other places but still mainly just bread and fruit. Family who run it are lovely and so helpful - they have everything you need to enjoy your stay from amazing local knowledge, hand drawn maps, cards for the buses and booking for coaches/trips all over Peru at no commission. Location is also excellent - highly recommend more independent travellers to stay in barranco rather than miraflores. Hostel is v close to local bars and restaurants whilst being on a quiet (but safe) road just off the main square.

Disliked: This isn't a complaint, just to be aware that the hostel was quieter than I'd anticipated, more of a family/older couple vibe, although there did seem to be quite a few younger solo travellers/groups at breakfast.

Liked: The place was clean, the staff helpful and Chris (the English owner) was always around if you needed help. This was my first stop in Peru and it helped to be able to converse in English at the beginning of my trip. There were multiple options of tours and day trips presented and the staff called and helped me find out about availability but it was never like they were trying to sell me something. I enjoyed my time I spent there and the multiple people I met. In short, I highly recommend the hostel.

Disliked: The night time clerk was the same as the daytime. So if I entered late I always had to wake her up. Though it did give a sense of continuity and a family run atmosphere.

Liked: This is a great hostel to stay in Lima. It has a friendly atmosphere, the staff are really helpful and the rooms are comfortable. Also I stayed in a room that has one of the best views of the ocean in Barranco! I would recommend to stay in this part of Lima anyday, it´s got beaches, bars and great restaurants and is only a taxi away from the centre.

Disliked: wifi doesnt work very well - i had a whole day where it didnt work at all; also a pack of dogs live across the road and bark all the time so it can get a bit noisy during the night

Liked: Its friendly atmosphere. They were very helpful. I loved the kitchenwith its extended patio. Its located so close to the ocean.

Liked: i liked that you actually could see the water from the rooms... it was decorated nicely and clean for the most part. the staff was very helpful and kind.

Disliked: it was situated on a seedy street and all night feral dogs could be heard barking, car alarms and horns and people. the next day, we woke up to puddles of piss and vomit on the "steps" to the beach. that was probably my worst sleep during my trip. our shuttle driver was kind enough to stay at the airport while i looked for my partner, but scared us half to hell with driving down the wrong side of the street back to the hostel, and i think he over charged us too.

Liked: Good hostel, well described on the website. Owners and staff very helpful and had useful tourism tips not written about in the Lonely Planet! Breakfast was ok, standard bread and jams etc.

Disliked: In a good location within the Barranco area, but if you are after a quick visit to Lima central area then it's a bit of a trek (30 min on a train/ bus) back into the central tourist area.

Liked: the hostel owners are very friendly and helpful. They prepared a lot of handy information for travellers, e.g., transportation. The location of the hostel is very good for me, easy transportation to the city center, but very quiet and has the ocean view. For some personal reasons, I need to extend my stay for one more night, they helped me to organize another room with the same rate. I would recommend it to any of my friends going to Lima.

Liked: Staff was really helpful figuring out the trip to Paracas and finding a hostel there. Breakfast included. The Barranco´s part of Lima is beautiful and I never felt unsafe. Great place!

Disliked: More variety in breakfast would be my recommendation.

Liked: This was the first place we stayed whilst on holiday in Peru and having readily arranging an airport pick up, was checked in to a nice but simple room overlooking the Pacific....not a bad start! We arranged trips to both the Jungle and Machu Picchu via the tour agent recommended by the English owner of the hostel who was full of suggestions and ideas he shared with us. We also arranged a surf lesson through the hostel and would highly recommend that also! Hada great stay and left ready for the rest of our holiday!
